So we booked our airfare 2 weeks ago and just checked online and now it is much cheaper. I feel sick to my stomach. Is there anything I can do? This sucks

Krissy - girl,

Call the airlines and see if they will credit you the flight difference. You can't lose anything by trying!

Good luck!!!!!

Try calling to see what they'll do. Some airlines (American is one) will give you a travel voucher to use. It is basically a refund of the exact amount of money, but in the form of a gift certificate for that airline. You can use that money to pay for another flight you buy. Be careful though, ours have always expired within 1 year of issue.

Good luck!

Oh, I feel you on this one!!! I am also from Oregon, we bought our flights on JetBlue and I just checked yesterday and they have gone done a total of $80 (for only the 2 of us!)... Bummer! I don't know what I was even looking for, but the idea that they might go down was tempting me to look...

I am hoping you can get a refund, I am thinking I might want to check on mine too... Here's a little pixie dust coming your way!:wizard:

I am booking 6 flights on Alaska tonight so the price better not go down!! Please let me know what they say.

i am afraid to look now! i booked mine about a week ago.

Jet Blue credits easily, just like Southwest.

Yep, we are always credited the difference when the rate lowers through Alaska.

Are you serious? Augh, I shoulda asked them then! If only someone had answered my question about them and Virgin America on the Transportation forum...that post was my single-most ignore post EVER.

Thank you Yellow Mickey Ponchos and Bumbershoot! :flower3:

I just got off the phone with JetBlue and they have credited me $200! :cool1:

I bought our upcoming flights about 2 weeks ago and they have since dropped $25 each way (x4 of us....x2 again since it is a roundtrip = $200.00)

I also was "sick to my stomach" over the thought of this. Being a person who is very "frugal" the thought of throwing away $200 bucks really hurt!

The call was super easy and no hassle!

Now I have $200 towards our next Disneyland trip....woo hoo!

Another reason why I love you guys and your great advice!

That is GREAT!!! :goodvibes I am so happy for you! I will give them a call tomorrow as I just couldn't get to it today. I am hoping they can do something!

Good Luck Krissy! Try and call as soon as you can. The gal I talked to at JetBlue told me that as long as the cheaper fairs are available they will give you the credit. From what I have heard, Alaska is the same.

My DH was so pleased with this credit! My kids are already planning when we will return back to DL! :woohoo:

I am sending you good vibes for your credit! :goodvibes

Honestly, I didn't know I could do this either. If it hadn't been for your posting I would have just lost $200...so THANK YOU VERY MUCH! :thumbsup2

I posted a few posts above this and you just have to call and provide your information and they can see what you paid and can see the rate has lowered. You will receive a credit voucher towards your next flight. We have done this on almost every single flight we have had because they almost always lower the price. Good luck.

I just called Alaska and they gave me a credit for each of us. Which is nice...the credit is actually a bit more than the difference in the cost which is fine by me! :) Thanks for your support guys!

What happens if the airfare goes down again?? lol
