For anyone in the Portland Area Alaska is offering $50 tickets each way to SNA, LAX etc. Jan through March I believe. You have to purchase by Dec 7. I hope this helps others:

I unfortunately am not patient and booked tickets 3 weeks ago that were a great price but now I am 100 behind. Oh well it is fun to try a new airline right?

I just booked my trip with Alaska Airlines. I will be going April 23 thrugh April 30.

Call and see if you can get a credit for a future flight. I was able to do this in April.

I called non refundable, but I will watch to see if they lower the fare to credit some back if I can.

I saw this deal yesterday as well. I was going to book a flight on Virgin America ($79 each way from Seattle to LA), but I'm glad I waited.

The tickets are NOT with Alaska, is that correct? it's the impression I got from your first post, but just making sure (since Alaska, within a certain timeframe, will give you credit when the fare drops).

I checked this yesterday. $121 round trip (with all fees) from Seattle to Orange County. Almost too good to pass up.

I started a thread about this yesterday. I had already booked and paid for my tickets and called and got a $450 credit!!! :thumbsup2

Yes Bumbershoot you are correct. I made a reservation on Jet Blue. Great deal at the time with no luggage fees for first bag.

At the time I booked the flights I was going through a really rough court experience, had to read a victim impact statement in front of a judge, so the piece of mind that I had the flight booked and all the reservations made was well worth it. I just have to remember that now, after the fact.

Thanks for posting this information.....I have tickets on "hold" for a trip during mid winter break in February.

I have been "itching" to go back to DLR and this is the perfect opportunity. We previously had a $400 credit with Alaska on our tickets we bought to go to Hawaii last summer.

Now, DH needs to give me the "all clear" to purchase these tickets... I am waiting patiently....(or not!) :rotfl:

I hope you get the all clear. With hotel, ticket and airfare deals currently the prices seem better than 2 years ago for us.

YEAH!!!!! I just checked Jet Blue, which I booked on, and their tickets were down to $50 each way and no baggage fee for first bag. So I just got the $204 difference credited to my acct. Now I have to find somewhere else to go on jet blue within a year from today.

Yipee! I got the go ahead from DH.

We are going to Disneyland February 16 - 20! We will purchase AP's once again....I'm so excited!

It was a little tense using my credits for Alaska, with these low fares the flights were filling up fast! Those credits when your airfare gets reduced are tricky to use. You can only use one credit per reservation so I had to book 4 reservations, one for each person.

JetBlue's credits are much easier to use....oh well.

Now, I am looking at the deals for hotels. I have the Anaheim Plaza booked right now ($59 a night). I will keep my eyes out for a better deal....(HoJo's entertainment rate). But, Anaheim Plaza will work too.

Thanks again PoohBearFriends!

I am so happy you are going to go. I printed out the airline info for a coworker today because he was also debating going to DLR and the price on airline tickets is really swaying him.

I saw the cheap airfare from Portland and about had a heart attack! I called my sister and we booked an impromptu sister trip to Disneyland January 21-25. $121 with all fees included is way too cheap to pass up. Thank you Alaska Airlines!!

We are going 1/23-1/31........this is the fourth year in a row we have gone at this time and it is a great time to go!

We just got back from our trip last night...we always fly Alaska.

Just as a heads up (because I wasn't aware of this until it was almost too late)...Alaska now charges $15 per bag if you check your luggage. We carried everything on, but were lazy packers when it was time to leave. We got to the airport and I couldn't believe when I saw they wanted $45 to check three bags. We had to sit there in the airport, rearranging all of our stuff to accommodate stowing our bags in the overhead compartments, as well as getting all of our liquids together. I wasn't paying $15 a bag.

I guess this happened a while back, but it was news to me.

Many of the airlines are charging the 15 a bag now. That is what led me to be interested in Jet Blue where 1st bag is free. We are taking a trip over Christmas and I am ready to pay the fee. We had to pay to go to WDW last year on Delta.

Yeah...I just was surprised to find out that Alaska had crossed over to the dark side. I used to fly them every month down to LA for work, but now that I'm not working, it had been a little while.

I miss the good old days of air travel.

I just booked the airfare. I needed to book something because we're kind of going through a rough time:sad2: right now with family stuff, so this gives us something to look forward to and this price was just to good to pass up. As far as the bag fee goes, we don't care because it's just 15.00 bucks. It just brought a little happiness to my husband and I today.:)
