Alaska 8/31--what to pack for the kids

so our Alaska cruise is finally almost here. my packing is done, but I want to make sure the boys (ages 5 & 7) will be set. They each have a lined sweatshirt, down vest, and hooded 200 gm fleece. Since we are sailing so late in the season, will that be enough? I'm also packing each one a hat and knit gloves. As far as pajamas, long sleeves? Short? Fleece? What has been the cabin temperature?

Layers that if it's warm or hot can come off but waterproofs if it rains. The ship inside us warm the pools warm, it can have changeable weather prepare for most things.

Hats gloves yes, but when inside pyjamas what they normally wear the room will be warm.

We did Alaska in August and we wore shorts the whole time except for when we went through the Fjord.....we had a verandah and the boys wore long sleeve shirt and sweatshirt with hood.......and we had gloves as well in case they wanted them....we also did the helicopter ride and the Trek on the glacier and they supplied us with clothing to wear over our clothing..not sure of what excursions you are doing so that will depend also...but for all the ones we did we had shorts.... have an awesome time...it is fabulous and the pictures of it do not do it justice

A day or two before you leave, do a google search of the weather at each port you'll be visiting. That will give you an idea. If you don't like Alaska's weather, wait 15 mins and it will change.

We've found the main dining rooms on the Wonder are rather chilly, but we're desert rats. If you're planning to wear something strapless to dinner, you might want to include a shawl or other wrap.

While in a drought... Vancouver looks a little wet precruise.
