So sad to hear of his passing. He was a great actor. A class act for sure.

Thanks for posting this Bluer. As Robo said, he was a great actor who will be greatly missed.

I know a lot of people associate him with the villain roles, like Hans in Die Hard and Professor Snape; but I will always cherish his part from Galaxy Quest. "By Grabthar's hammer, you will be avenged!"

Alan was a excellent actor. Gone too young. I will always remember him most as the Sheriff of Nottingham. After our Sept. visit to IOA/US (we were so clueless), my daughter and I are watching the full Harry Potter series. Just watched #4. I will be really sad going forward with the series.
