Alamo's Rate Beats National?

Hi Everyone,

I have a quick question? I booked a standard SUV thru Alamo for 4/21/05 to 4/28/05 (8 days) for a rate of $233.00 including all taxes.
Everytime I check National's rates using the priceless codes with entaintment coupons, I'm getting a rate of $286.00.
Why is everyone else finding the cheapest rates with National and I'm not?
I only used the codes listing in the entertainment book for my rate with Alamo.
Also, can anyone get a cheaper rate somewhere else or is the Alamo rate really good?
Thanks so much for all your help!!! :flower:

I couldn't get that rate either at National. I'd just stick with Alamo.

They are the sister company to National and their lot is right next to National's and you can pick whatever car you want from the SUV aisle.

Alamo and National are indeed sister companies, and they have tried to have Alamo be the 'leisure' side, and National be tailored more towards business travel, that could be why as well.

We've have 2 fine experiences with Alamo at MCO, I would not hesitate to use them again.

Thanks a bunch! You just saved me $25. I am going the same time as you and I had a National Minivan for $248. I just checked Alamo, and I got the same thing for $223.

First trip to WDW and using Alamo for my dear family of 5 (DW, DD2, DS1, DM78 and myself). From the baggage carousels is it far to the Alamo counter and lot? We have the usual boatload of children's luggage, double stroller, car seats and I see myself hauling one child, dragging a couple of bags, etc. Just want to know what to expect. Do they have baggage carts for rent or sitting around. DW wants to bring along a case of our daughter's special alimentum formula (for her food allergies).

Yes, there are carts right by the baggage claim area. DH goes and gets one while I look for our luggage and then we both look for our luggage and put everything on the cart. Then we take the elevator up one floor I believe and then you check in at Alamo and they'll head you in the right direction which would be outside right across the street. You just follow the signs for Alamo.

Hi Rachel,

Your very welcome!
Keep checking Alamo's rate though. I originally booked the SUV for $255. Then I check again last week and it was down to $242, then the very next day it was at $233! I have checked again this week and it's back at $242, but you never know.

Definately use the cart. We went in February and didn't bother with the cart. Well my husband got in line while me and my 3 & 5 year old tried to move 4 bags plus 2 carryons. Too much luggage. Find a table just past the Alamo counter and have a rest because it took about 1 hour for us to get our car. Thank god the kids had activity books and snacks. Other than the wait everything went very smoothly.
