Okay people because I've found sooooooo much info about Disney I'm going to share what I THINK Alamo is trying to keep a "secret" Let me share my experience....

Well on 2/13 I purchased several 3 day hopper plus tickets from Disney thru Alamo. Okay I'm A LITTLE excited about my upcoming August trip. Since my tickets had not arrived by 3/12 I called the old Alamo Disney perferred number 800-560-2397 and was told that number was discountinued and Alamo does not offer that ticket any more. Yeah right!!!!

Anyway I got a little suspensious so I called Alamo and set up a fake rental car reservations, told them I was going to Disney and I asked if they had discounts. "Well of course we do", said the customer service rep. And here is the number........ That's right people I went to some "extreme" measures in order to get these extra "low priced" 3 day hoppers for my nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. It's almost 40 of us traveling this August and they have left it up to me to buy all of these tickets. Sounds like a NIGHMARE Trip Report just waiting to happen!!!!!! Alamo is offering a rental car with some "code" for Disney travelers too!!!!!!

Make sure when you call you say that Alamo "preferred" you and this includes shipping/handling/taxes, etc. The prices are still......

$169.35 for Adult 3-day hopper plus
$135.27 for child 3 day hopper plus

$219.40 for Adult 4 day plus
$175.24 for child 4 day plus

That number is .........(800) 225-2475

Just called the 1-800-225-2475 number to get the 3 day hopper pass and was told by a CM that Disney no longer sold tickets via Alamo.

I still didnt give up. I called the 1-800-Go-Alamo number and spoke with an agent at Alamo. I told them I was interested in the discounted Disney tickets if they still offered them. They said they did and ask if I had a reservation. I told them no that I was price comparing between the rental car companies (which I am) and this would possibly be the determining factor. The Alamo agent then transferred me to the Disney Preferred ticket line where I was able to purchase my 3 day pass plus one for $169. :bounce:

The CM did mention there was a "rumor" the tickets would be going up tomorrow and that I was lucky to be ordering today. Of course I acted like that was a total shock! ;)

A great way to get the right tickets for my vacation!

Okay people, it seems even the number above isn't working. Because of the above post, I immediately called my sister (who is traveling with us this summer). She and I called on a three way and they (Disney) told me that first the 3 day hopper is NO LONGER AVAILABLE!!!!! Well, I "begged" the guy because I just purchased other tickets just weeks before. He gave in and sold me (4) 3 day hopper plus tickets for the regular prices, but he told me that if you don't purchase these by the end of today, the 3 days are gone for good!!!!!

According to the guy at Disney too many people are buying these tickets, but not renting from Alamo (i.e 90% of us on this board), and that's why these tickets are being discontinued. The 4, 5, and 6 days are still going to be offered. He also said that they are now required to ask for the confirmation number starting Monday. Is is true? I don't know but be prepared to get a reservation before these tickets via Alamo!!!!

Well, I do know for sure, that as of tomorrow, the ticket prices for Disney are going up. So, I suggest you buy any and all tickets for any upcoming trips TODAY!!

does anyone know if alamo offers discount tickets to universal? I actually am renting from alamo in april.
I also would like to know if anyone has strategy to avoid the long alamo line at the airport????

DJM99 - I think a lot has to do with who your CM is when you reach Disney. Like I mentioned earlier, the first call I got the "not available anymore" but then I called Alamo direct and had them transfer me (evidently a different # then I had) and the CM was as friendly as could be and didnt even ask about reservations or try to give me any grief. It was great customer service! I guess your experience will vary from CM to CM.

I am trying to get hold of the rest of my family that is going in April and the ones going in October with us to let them know about the price increase as well as about the Alamo deal.

I knew I should have ordered my 3 day PH's yesterday! I even called them yesterday, but didn't buy them. Guess I'll go with Ticketmania, where the Mousesaver site still have them at $175.

You snooze, you lose I guess!

I ordered from Ticketmania yesterday, at the old prices. I believe there's a notice there today that they will still sell at that price through Monday, and then they will raise their prices on Tuesday. Act fast!

I put in for my tickets last ( Saturday) night through Ticketmania. I was planning on buying them around this time anyway, but the increase made me act quickly! I didn't notice the memo about the Tuesday price increase. At least that's one less thing I have to worry about.

Thursday night I bought three 5 day PH+ passes from Disney. I'd purchased 3-day PH+ passes from Alamo before, but was unaware of companies such as Ticketmania. Turns out that I could have saved $12 on the same order from TicketMania. That's 4.5 Dole Whips! ;)

Anyhow, I'm just wondering- are the PH tickets sold by discount brokers backed by the same replacement policy as those purchased from Disney? Is there any difference in their appearance?

Ajax,

I'm not sure about Ticketmania or others like them, but Alamo actually tranfers you to Disney. So you are really speaking with CM. I've been kind of afraid to buy for those reasons. And I've always wondered if you loose your tickets and bought them from companies other than Disney would they still replace them (with ticket copies, proof of receipt - of course)!!!! If you buy via Disney have all the above info. They do replace your passes!!!!

I just went to Ticketmania and they've already raised their prices. The 3 day PH is now $190! Guess I'll try the Alamo #.
