Does Alamo run pretty much as National as far as having a Diamond Lane? Can you bypass the counter, and have easy return? We've always used National, but unless their prices come down for beginning of Feb. Alamo will be the way to go for us.There will be 5 of us so I've been checking on SUV's and Mini vans. Thanks for your help.

Alamo has FastLane Check-In. The service is free, you just need to sign-up for it on their website. Make sure when you make your reservation you put your FastLane ID number in the field, or esle you won't be able to use the FastLane service at check-in.

At the Orlando airport you bypass the counter on the ground floor and go directly to the parking garage where the cars are located. There is a counter at the parking garage on the second floor. You check-in at that counter. You will be given your contract at that counter. Once finished there you go directly to your car class row.

As far as returning your car you just pull-up to car drop-off, and as long as you want to put your balance on your credit card the attendant will print you a receipt and you will be on your way.

This is a great service that is free. It literaly saves us 30 minutes to an hour of waiting in line at check-in.

it is not called "fastlane" for alamo ( that used to be the name of Dollar's fast service program, they call it Dollar Express now ) unless this has changed recently, it is called "quicksilver"

Alamo's express service program is called Quicksilver. To become a Quicksilver member, you must have a corporate or business benefits account with Alamo or have rented five times within the last 12-month period. Renters must have a master rental agreement on file, and the Quicksilver ID number must be given when the reservation is booked. The membership enables renters to rent at an expedited counter.



the only problem with quicksilver since the changes a couple of years ago... as seen above ....you supposedly have to be a business person, and have to rent at least five times before they will grant you "quicksilver" status



they did not "grandfather" most people who had quicksilver before the change ( all of a sudden our quicksilver id's were not working anymore )

we have not pursued trying to get the status back since we do not own a business and travel for leisure usually
