Can anyone tell me what they've seen on the Alamo economy aisle recently? I know they list "Chevy Aveo or similar" - just wanted to know what they consider to be similar. For my upcoming trip, the economy is much cheaper than a compact, but I've never rented smaller than compact. Thanks!

Are you the same girl from the SEPT Rates thread? I think you are. I posted some pics to you, in there.

If the difference in price is that big, totally take the smaller one. It was not that big of a difference between those 2 rows.

Yep, it's me! Thought I might get more replies here. Thanks for posting the pics, I appreciate it. I changed my ressie from compact to economy. For the $29 difference, I can roll down a window too! ;)
That'll pay for gas and tolls (it's a non-Disney trip for me this time :sad1:)

This is a follow up post for anyone who may be interested (I'm the OP). When I got to the airport, I had a choice of 3 economy cars: silver Hundai Accent, silver Hundai Accent, or silver Hundai accent! I chose the silver Hundai Accent ;). I always try to avoid cars that smell of Febreze, but all 3 had been sprayed. As the week wore on, the distinctive cigarette smoke smell became noticeable. The car got excellent mileage, but yes, it had roll up windows and manual car locks. No cruise control. Good A/C though. So, for the $29 difference in price between the economy and compact, it was acceptable. Would I choose the economy again for a difference of a few dollars? No.
Hope this is helpful to someone else!

Thanks for the report. I think I'll see what the difference between economy and compact is. I have sworn I'll never rent another silver car! And roll down windows are just too much of a pain when you're solo and trying pay for parking and keep your wallet from falling on the floor....
