Alamo Standard SUV

Alamo has a standard SUV (Hyundai Santa Fe or similar) for $70 less than my rented minivan for my upcoming trip. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this car class and if we will fit.

We are a family of 5 (2 year old in car seat, 5 year old in backless booster, 8 year old in seat belt).

We will probably have 3-4 suitcases (2 28 inch, 2 24 inch) and backpacks as carry-ons. We will also have a single stroller (Britax B-Agile).

I tend to think we will be ok, but thought I'd check.

It might be a little tight for the 8 yr old and it'll be a little more difficult getting the two younger ones in because of the door, but you should be OK.

Once you're able to dump the luggage at your accommodations, I would think most SUV's in that class have a 3rd row, so you can send the 8 yr old back there.

Just remember the actual model of SUV you get isn't guaranteed...you may or may not be able to get a Santa Fe. In any event, you should get to walk the row and choose, so I'd definitely pick one that has a 3rd row seat. Its also quite possible there may be some minivans in the SUV row; if you prefer that, you can take it and still pay the SUV price.

My husband has a 10 year old Malibu that we occasionally ride in and they don't seem to complain about space in the backseat. I'm probably more concerned about luggage fitting.

We will be flying into and out of Tampa. Does Alamo allow you to choose your vehicle there?
