We rented a car 2 years ago with Alamo. We rented a full size car and when we got there to pick our car there were mini-vans and a Mazda5 in the row along with the full size cars that we could pick from. Back then we didn't need a mini van because we only had 1 child, but now we have 2 and could really use the extra room. My question is, is this something that is common with Alamo? Do they usually have mini vans in the full size row to pick from? Or should we try to get a good deal on a mini van or SUV to for sure get a one. Thanks!

If you need a mini van, book a mini van. Don't chance getting lucky, especially in Orlando.

+1

During our most recent visit (August 2013), there were full sized cars in the full sized row. The minivans and SUV's were all in their appropriate rows.

I don't think you should ever count on a minivan appearing in the std/full row. They are occasionally there, but probably less often than not.

I picked up my rental on 9/21 in the morning and in-laws picked up that evening. Both times there wasn't any minivans. Just days before my rental people were reporting minivans in fullsize so it's just luck if you can get one.

Thank you, that's kind of what we figured...hit or miss. We don't have to have one it would just be nice. Fingers crossed we get lucky!
