I'm going to be renting a car from Alamo at LAX and will be returning it to Alamo's DTD site. Then on the day we leave, I'll be picking up another car to get us back to the airport.

Is this location easy to find?

It looks like it's close enough to walk to DLR... the morning we drop it off, we'll be going to DLR. How long do you think it is to walk from their site to the gates?

Any other info you have would be greatly appreciated! Just getting my "ducks in a row" before the trip in a couple of weeks!

We are going to try the DTD Alamo site next week. I called them and they said they are right next to Compass Bookstore which is right across from Rainforest Cafe.

How cost effective is that? I've always wondered...

I'm going with friends to a work conference so there's four of us to split the cost. It works out to per person be just under what Super Shuttle charges one way + gas. We want to go to the beach the day we get into town so now we have a way to get there! Then we'll pay only one night for parking at our hotel (Too expensive to keep the car all week and pay the $15/night for parking!:scared1: ), then I'll bring it back to DTD and have whoever is up and at 'em and want to get to DLR about a 1/2 hour or so before rope drop! That way we won't have to wait for the shuttle, which will possibly be full of people by the time it gets to our hotel and doesn't get us there as early as I'd like. We'll have fun at DLR for the day and hop the shuttle back to the hotel.

My plan is to grab the shuttle back to DLR on the day we leave, pick up the car, pick up friends, head to airport and fly home:sad1:

It's actually cheaper for the rental from DTD to LAX vs the other way. No airport tax!

It may be a bit more for the rental doing just the couple of days like this, but when we added in the cost of keeping the car at the hotel, it was less.

Thanks. I'm going to have to find a map. I've only been to DLR once, 3 years ago, and we only went to DL during some free time... never made it to DTD.

Thanks for the info. Since we'll be a party of four but with the same wallet, and our hotel has free parking, I am going to stick with Plan A. Thanks for replying and y'all have a great trip! :)
