Alamo rates finally down today! Even easter week!

For those choosing Alamo you may wish to check your reservations or make them! I have been pricing out our trip for weeks and got rates in the $600 range. They were also charging me $150 extra to drop off at TPA. Today they are finally down to an acceptable rate. If you have a VISA card you can get up to 20% and $30 off with a rental 5 days or more with a Saturday night keep.

My dates: April 23 pick up at MCO
returning on May 1 at TPA
used my VISA discount code/coupon ID 7015504 and Coupon Code AD2338FDF
and got a rate of:

$260.90 FINALLY!

Of course I will still keep trying to get it lower......I am used to paying about $200 for a week long rental.

JUST CHECKED AND GOT MUCH BETTER RATES FROM NATIONAL TOO...BUT ALAMO STILL $8 CHEAPER.

Hard time at the rental companies. Shareholders want to see the green. Alamo is quoting 900$ for 8 days in late february. Expedia quotes close to 1000$ FOR A ECONOMY CAR.

Might be because I quoted today, which is probably a busy day for them.

But still, this is completely ridiculous.

Thanks for posting this! I have a short Alamo rental for something else in April, and this reminded me that I needed to modify my info based on the flight times I finally booked. I saved more than 30 percent off an already-low Entertainment rate!

Thank you for the codes. I did get a good rate, but it specified that I needed to have the coupons with me when I pick up the car. Do you think that only means using a Visa credit card?

Early March is still through the roof too. I find rates tend to dip 3-4 weeks out which would be mid next week or so. Right now I'm doing something I'd really prefer not to do, I have a reservation at Payless. Boy do I hope the in-terminal rates drop.

I started with the VISA link found on mousesavers and then clicked the coupon to print. I used this last year too and they did request my coupon. You need to use your VISA card for payment on the reservation.

I just checked my rental for Easter week and it went down a whopping $2.22! Of course I re-booked......hey that's an extra 1/2 gal. of gas LOL!
