My in laws are going to Tampa at the end of February. The rate is still almost $500 for the week.

Just booked thru Costco a Premium car pickup @ MCO for $236 including taxes and fees! (For 4/24-5/2)

Our car is still priced crazy. $453 to pick up in Fort Lauderdale and drop in Orlando for nine day in May

Hill6 you are look to early. The closer your trip gets the cheaper it will be. For the last 3 years I have not paid more that $120 for a weekly rental with Alamo. I usually book the Tues before my trip because that is when the last minutes sales are released.

Thanks for the post! Just booked with Alamo (joined their "club" for extra discount, too) for our trip 2/12-2/20/14 for $242.75 total for standard class. This price matched what I had with E-Z. Think we'll go with Alamo this time, although we've never had any issues with E-Z. Wondering about the kiosk check in. Can we still add driver (which is free with "club" membership) at the kiosk? I like the idea of going to a kiosk then right to garage to choose car rather than waiting in the possible lines. We arrive on a Wednesday around 11:00pm....how busy will the car rental lines be at that time?

FYI there are no standard cars at MCO. I know in the past you could not add a person it will try to charge a fee for the extra person. When you get to the exit booth they can add the other person for free. But give it a try at the kiosk. Lines at that time should not be that bad

Confused by "no standard cars at MCO". I was able to get a quote and book a standard, but are you saying they won't have one? What will they issue then - full size? Sounds like it may be easier to just go to the counter to check in and list our second driver. Thanks for the info!

Check in at the kiosk! Do not wait in line. Correct, no standard size you will pick your choice of car from the full size aisle. When you are at the exit booth, just state you are in insider and would like to add your free additional driver (have the license ready to add). You will be in and out in a snap!

Used Alamo in October, used online check-in and added the extra driver info at that time. Printed the paperwork before we left. Upon arrival, just went out to the garage, had a full size booked. Picked our vehicle (keys inside) and drove it to the exit, handed the attendant my paperwork, my CC and both our drivers licences. I don't even think he looked at the paperwork, just scanned our licences and verified my CC and we were on our way. Maybe 10 minutes from picking up our luggage to driving out of the parking garage.
Definitely recommend the online check-in, think you have to be an Insider member but thats free anyway.
