Alamo Online Check-in: How does anyone utilize this when coupons are always available

My understanding is that if you have a coupon, you cannot use the online check-in feature. Coupons seem to always be available for Alamo so who are the people doing this?

Is it just being used by business travelers or folks to busy to waste time looking around the internet for a coupon?

Honestly I've used Alamo several times and my upcoming trip is the first time I'm using a coupon. All my other trips there were discount codes that you didn't need a coupon for. We used online check in in November, it was great.

We passed on using the coupon last trip so we could just go to our car with online check-in and get to WDW faster. I've heard so many horror stories from other posters about how long they wait in line, that my DH and I decided to skip the coupon. The rate was already one of the lowest we've paid, so we didn't feel too badly about missing out on the additional savings ($15 at that time). Don't get me wrong, I love to save!!! But in this case, getting to the World faster (and to our dinner ADR on time) took priority.

We have lived through the long lines during our last three trips. $15 is definitely worth it to me to just walk to the car.

I booked a car online with their 20.00 online coupon. I printed it just in case, but I'm not sure if that counts as a coupon. If I call Alamo will they tell me if I qualify for the online check-in?

For my May trip I have Alamo booked and plan on using online check in. The rate I got was much cheaper using no code at the time I booked vs using an online code from mousesavers. I am happy with the rate I got an am even happier knowing I can bypass that longggg line!! Last year we went at the same time and we were in line for more than 45mins!!
