I'm hoping someone can give me some feedback about the Disneyland location for Alamo car rental. We plan to rent from LAX and drop off at Disneyland. Then, a few days later, pick up a car at Disneyland for the remainder of our trip. How easy/difficult is it to use this location? Or do you suggest using the Katella location? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

How dead set are you on using Alamo? I'd price both and see if one is cheaper. There are some other rental places around the resort, like a Dollar at Anaheim Plaza Inn. I was on a trip last month and I priced several places near my hotel and found a 1 day rental with airport return for less than $40 from Avis, who I'd never used before. Other prices were up to $70 with one way rental fee. My taxi had cost $30 from the airport, so it was a great deal.

It's very easy to use - and just a reminder, it's in Downtown Disney, across from ESPNzone and the theater.

Aloha,

Great location. Right across the street from the DLH Adventure Tower. I was also able to rent a National van from the same site. Apparently Alamo and National work together.

No, we're not set on Alamo. They just have the best rates that I've found so far. But thanks for the suggestion. I'll keep an eye on Dollar as well.

I should mention that was a non-Disney trip. I don't think there's a $30 cab ride to be had from an airport to Disney.

I just used the National Katella location last week (which is shared with Alamo). I'm a National Executive Elite so I always rent from them. It was unlike anything that I have ever experienced at National. I picked a car (Dodge Durango) from the Executive Aisle at OC Airport and returned it to Katella a few hours later ($44). I dropped my family at the Grand Californian and then it was a 10 min walk for me after dropping the car. When I got to Katella the office was opened but I couldn't find any employees. Eventually, a gentleman in uniform told me to leave the keys with him. No receipt was given, but I received one a few hours later via email.

On my return, I again walked the 10 min to the Katella location. I called all morning to confirm the car, but the phone was never answered. I was using "free days" and I wanted to make sure that my full size SUV reservation was ready. It was not. I had to wait for a guy to clean it, which consisted of him spraying water with a hose. The car was delivered wet by the cleaning guy because the office guy left on his lunch break...at least it was a full size SUV (Chevy Tahoe). I returned the vehicle at the San Diego airport 2 days later and I was not able to get a receipt because the car was not recognized in the system. Today, I checked the National app and it said that my Toyota Corolla (???) rental was overdue. I called National and told them that I returned the Tahoe at the airport and they told me that they will fix everything....still waiting.

I can't believe a National location in a major tourist location is run like that!

Ugh. Looks like we'll stay away from the Katella location. I hope everything works out for you!
