I got mine from Alamo at the Dolphin a few weeks ago. It was a Dodge Journey.

Last November we had our choice of Nissan Rogue, Ford Escape and Hundai Tucson. WE chose the Tucson and were very happy.

Just that? Not "...or similar"? Because the only car rental company that lets you reserve a specific model - for an extra fee - was Hertz.

IIRC, Alamo has "Intermediate SUV" which is currently "Rav4 or Similar," (CR-V, Escape, Rogue) and "Standard SUV" which is currently "Ford Edge or Similar" (was "Nissan Pathfinder or Similar" but Pathfinder is bigger so that may have been raising expectations).

What you actually get is going to vary. Edge. Murano. Acadia. Blazer is new but could be coming to this rental class. Journey. Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Alamo reservation usually lists a vehicle as an example. However, when you get there, you can pick any vehicle in that row for the size you reserved.

It may say RAV4, but for all the years I have rented from Alamo in Orlando, I have never seen a RAV4. Corollas, yes. That's about all the Toyota vehicles I usually see. And I have seen them on the midsize aisle, which I think is crazy., Anyway, last time we booked a mid size SUV, we picked a Jeep one from it. My adult son, enjoyed it, I thought it was close to driving my RAV4, that I own.

Have one booked for this August, so I can let you know brands on the that aisle after I get back. I hope something good is still on that aisle, as we are picking it up late at night.

Sorry a corolla is now a midsize in the minds of Alamo and has been for a few years......
Go for the economy you can expect a Mazda 2.... Never seen one look no further than the Hot wheels isle at your local store -- it has a trunk fit for an average size carry one measured by the airlines.
Mid size is another word for compact although a compact SUV is larger than a compact car you could get stuck with some that have rather small cargo space where having 3 full size bags would be a big issue...

You can rent a minivan from Alamo. I'm renting a minivan from MCO from National but also did price comparisons for Alamo and Enterprise. All three had 7 and 8 passenger minivan options.

Usually Rogues and Equinoxes, but once my daughter picked a bright red jeep wrangler unlimited thing that we had to climb into. Also did a Journey once, and Ford Edge (which was large compared to the Escape in the storage area).

If a Pathfinder was included in Standard SUV, maybe. I wouldn't count on the "Standard SUV" category though if you need a third row.

There absolutely should be a Minivan option on whatever page you're booking, or Alamo also has "Premium SUV" (Suburban or similar), "Premium Crossover" (VW Atlas or similar), and "Full-size SUV" (Expedition or similar) categories.

Thank you. unfortunately, Minivans and premium are not available for my one way rental. I even called to inquire.
