I just joined Alamo Insiders, and when I punch in my dates and times with the codes I have been using (7014667 and AD4027JDO) the rate isn't any less than it was before I joined. I did this right after I joined so I was already logged in and they had entered my member number. I thought Insiders got an extra 10% off.

I think it depends on the codes you use. I had this happen with my National res. using their club. I tried a 20% off + extra day off code & coupon and they did not give me the 10% club discount. Then I tried a different coupon that gave a straight $35 off, and they gave me the $35 off plus the 10% discount. The second option gave me lowest price.

I joined Insiders as well. Beside 10% off, what are the other perks? I read somewhere on these boards that you get an additional driver for free and you get to pick you own vehicle depending on what size of car you booked. Is this true?

Don't know about the additional driver but if it's like National's Emerald Club then your spouse is an authorized driver and can drive free.
With Alamo and National with or without the membership you can pick your vehicle from the row that's marked for the size you reserved. If you reserve a "fullsize" then just go down that row and pick the one you want, the keys are in them. Just drive to the exit booth and pass in the tag and your paperwork.

Thanks, I'll try some different code combinations. I did notice that the codes I did use off mousesavers are listed on the Insiders member page and not on Alamo's main page, but as I said, they worked before I joined Insiders.

Alamo Insiders get a free additional driver (spouse). I called and asked because my reservation did not include that wording and I didn't want to get stuck paying extra. Also, the man I spoke to said that because your info is already entered in the system you don't have to do online check in. You can check in either at the counter (special line for Insiders) or at the kiosk, then go out to the garage and pick your car from the aisle.

The 10% discount is from the Alamo Insiders contract ID (7015135) that also provides a free additional driver. The contract ID you mentioned applies a 20% discount and replaces the 10% discount.

Additional Drivers

With Alamo, all additional drivers will pay a daily fee of approximately $10 per day unless they are traveling with relatives who are members of Alamo Insiders or have a Corporate Contract Agreement.

Alamo Insiders members in the United States are allowed to have the following additional drivers without a fee:

Member's spouse, common law spouse, or domestic partner who has the same address on the driver's license as the member and who meet normal renter requirements.

Immediate family member, Mother/Father, Son/Daughter, or Brother/Sister who has the same address on the driver's license as the member and who meet normal renter requirements.

You also get a 10% discount on your rental (which can't be combined with other discounts or coupons). This discount comes from the pre-filled Insiders ID#. You can change this to another ID# if that gives you a better discount.

Alamo Insiders members don't have to pay an additional driver fee in most cases.

Alamo Insiders allows you to preregister all of your credit card and drivers license info, which saves you time at check-in.

Alamo Insiders members can use the self-service kiosks, which is usually much faster than waiting in line at the counter.

At Orlando airport, Alamo Insiders allows you go to straight out to the parking garage and check in at the booth there. There is usually no line at the garage booth. Thanks to Julie P for additional info.
