I've always been thankful when others have helped me with notices of low rental rates, so I thought I would return the favor.

Just rented a midsize car for 11 days (6/29 - 7/9) with Alamo for a base price of $165!!!! With taxes it was $225! I think that's a pretty good deal. If you are looking for a rental car in June, you may want to check this out.

I used a Costco coupon that saved me about $30.

Hope this helps!

Yup, if you book very far in advance you can sometimes strike gold :)

Last year I booked about 10 months in advance and got 9 days/$210 midsize. This year I booked about 11 months in advance and currently have 13 days at $335.

Generally about 4 months out there's a $25 coupon you can apply to your already made reservation as well.

Alamo must be offering the nearly the same rate for August. I also booked a midsize for 8/12-22 from Alamo using the Costco coupon/code and got a rate with taxes and fees of $223. I'll keep checking back for a better price, but I'd be happy even if the rate stays there.

:goodvibesThanks for the heads up...got a intermediate for 9 days all taxes and charges included for $210.00...one less thing to worry about it..

Thank you so much! I just booked a car for 9 days for our December trip for under $200!

I can't believe the savings I just got for the end of June. I called 2 days ago for a SUV, trailblazer from 6/21 thru 6/30 for 740.00 with the costco coupon. Then I called the next day and it was down to 698.00. Now I checked today on the computer and it was 50% off. Now I am getting the same SUV for the same time frame for $303.00. Thats how much the price changed in 3 days. I guess it pays to check the website every day.

How is everybody getting such cheap fares? :confused3 We are going from 7/2 - 7/9 and I can't get a decent price. When I first checked fares a few months ago, I was getting $200+ and then it went to $300+ and then $400+ and now it is $504 for an intermediate. I belong to their Insiders and I check a couple of times a day. I was hoping the price would come down but instead it is going up. We are picking up and dropping off at MCO.

That's because you are going during a peak holiday time
I hope you booked back when it was $200 because its going to go up even further.
I booked back in January for Thanksgiving and now they same time frame price has tripled!

Unfortunately, I didn't book when it was $300 cheaper because from previous experience it has gone down. We don't usually go during a peak holiday time so I don't know what I was thinking. We don't need to rent a car for the whole time and I can get a car for 2 days and pick it up at the car care center and return it to the airport for $68 so I might just do that. I wanted to pick it up the day we arrived because we have an early flight and my DH and I like to drive from the airport and have a nice breakfast at Cracker Barrel. I'm going to keep watching and cross my fingers.:surfweb:

Don't get too excited y'all because the first post in this thread is from Jan 2010. So this was for June & July last year.

We also used Alamo for a couple of days in May while we were at Ft. Wilderness. We usually tow a car, but this time trailered out golf cart, since we were there 21 days. The rates were great and they sent van for me to office to pick up auto, then taxied me back upon return.
We will certainlly will do this again in Dec

We always use Hotwire and book the car about 3 weeks prior to leaving.
Going to BWV in a couple of weeks and got a Standard thru Hotwire for
$9.95 a day (total of $126.00 for 6 days ,which included taxes).

Good Luck
