Alamo garage in MCO - where is it?

My DH is certain that Alamo has an offsite garage at MCO and even though their counter is in MCO, we'd still have to take a shuttle to their garage to get a car.

Does anyone know if that's true? I thought that if they had their counter on site, their garage was also on site.

Onsite - just follow the directions (down then up via escalator into the garage) where you will see the usual companies one after another including Alamo.

It's onsite, but you do have to go outside and across the street from where the desk is. Then up the escalator and follow the signs.

Baggage Claim is on Level 2. Then down the stairs to Level 1 where the rental car and cruise desks are. Then down again to the pedestrian tunnel (the preferred way to the rental cars/parking). You do not walk outside.
On the other side as you exit the tunnel you go up a level with the escalator and look for your rental car company (Alamo is to right if I remember correctly)

Awesome! I know where that is! So if we do the online check in, we just go to that garage and find our aisle and pick a vehicle, right? Our flight comes in around 10pm and I was (optimistically, probably) hoping to be in a vehicle by 10:30pm. Being right at the airport means I have some hope that it is possible.

You do not walk outside.

Sure you can. :) So easy. And gets you used to the FL heat earlier. :)

I'm an Alamo Insider and I don't go to the desks at all. Get my bags and head on outside! When we return we do the same thing. After one LONG LONG LONG wait for elevators to go the above described way, we decided "never again". :) So we just go to the crosswalk and head to the terminal and THEN up the escalators (usually after a bathroom visit).

Alamo is with all the other rental agencies.

We have done this a few times, agree.

Optimistic.

Getting off the plane can take 20 minutes. Bathroom break, walking to "monorail" thing, waiting, riding, walking out to main hub, getting to luggage carousels, waiting (unless you've walked very leisurely) for bags, THEN heading outside...it's going to be longer than half an hour.

Yes, you are both correct! There is a covered crossing but then the bus and shuttle and taxi traffic must stop while you cross. They do prefer folks to take the pedestrian tunnel! They even provide a people mover in the tunnel to speed you up!

So what time should I list my rental for? I have 10:30. Will they care if we're 15 minutes or a half hour late? I don't think our flight would be late, but, of course, that happens, too.
