In previous years Alamo did not offer an economy car at MCO. When your reserved an economy you were given a compact. Is this still true?

They had economy cars in April. We booked a compact and had to take a fullsize, but with the cost of gas it really wasn't an "upgrade". I think many couples really want to save money with an economy or compact.

You will know based on what appears when you try to book. If you look at the standard and full size prices, they are always the same. There is no standard car class at MCO and the Malibu or similar that the website shows as standard is in the full size isle at MCO. So if the prices for economy and compact are the same on the website then it is likely they don't have economy cars. When we go through the booking process I notice that the prices are always different, a good indicator that they have economy and compact cars.

If they added economy, it was likely due to demand. With car prices higher, people are looking for cheaper options, so they probably added economy for that reason.

Yes, they have them! I booked one in march, for the weekend inclusive of taxes it was $34! Can't beat the price but I had to laugh when my kids asked "What are these?" when they saw the ROLL DOWN WINDOWS!! lol Plus, manual locks too. But it did have air conditioning, so it was fine for just 2 days. But don't plan on putting a lot of luggage in there!
