Alamo doesn't accept debit cards for rentals ??

Hi, just saw this thread so hope my answer isn't TOO late. I have rented a car from Alamo and was able to use my debit card. I don't remember if they "held" a certain amount or not as it was a while ago. I just went online to check rates for an SUV and the website indicated that they do accept debits.
