Using my DVC membership and going for a few days in Dec,
12th to the 16th to be precise,

Anyone have any coupons or codes I might be able to use?
Best rate I found is $118 before tax for the 4 days,
I tried the annual passholder I.D (I am a passholder) and that was the best price as no coupons I found online work for December,

Anyone help me out :)

go on costco.com and click travel then under rental cars click alamo there you find some good coupons. i dont know if you have a costco membership but if you dont just print out the coupon i use it every time i rent car and they never check the coupon but if they ask just say you forgot the card at home. but you should no have a problem but i dont know if it be a better deal then you got now.

:thumbsup2 Thanks

Sadly nothing applies to my rental as they require a Saturday and I come in on a Sunday :(

Hopefully if I hold out a little there might be a winter coupon available soon,
Probably after July ends I'm thinking they will start winter and fall promo's

But obviously if anyone else has any good coupons please post away :)

My dates are Sun 12th until Thursday 16th,
and my pickup was at the Disney car care at noon, drop off at noon,

Many of the Costco and Entertainment coupons require a Saturday night. Best to book the cheapest rate you can now and then keep checking for coupons and deals at the Alamo site.

also try rentalcodes.com. I have a code coportate 7015171. I tried it for your dates and it was close to what you already have, but I wasn't sure the size you were looking for. Also you can use this code in addition an upgrade coupon, so that may give you a little more bang for your buck.

Bugger!!

Alamo went up yesterday :(
My base rate with any working coupons if now $139 :( :(

Should have booked the $118

Anyone know if this sort of thing is common? rates going up within a few days? and (fingers crossed) do they ever go back down?
There also is the chance that Alamo might run a winter special coupon too right?

Car rental rates DO fluctuate, a lot, depending on demand (so it's a bad idea to book multiple rentals :teeth: ). I don't know the current coupon/discount expiration dates, but look for new ones after these end. Usually the late-year coupons aren't valid after December 15, so when they DO come out, you should be covered :)

I think it's way too early to book a car for December. In my experience, the best rates are 1 to 2 months within the travel dates and often you'll get crazy good deals about a week before the travel date. What I typically do is book something with Alamo about 2-3 months out just so I have it. Then I check about every week to see if the rates changed. If I get a better rate, I make a new ressie and cancel the old one. The last time I did this, I hooked a luxury SUV for 8 days for $350 one week before our trip. Yep, that's right - we cruised around in a Lincoln MKX for less than $45/day. What I had booked earlier was a standard SUV for $370. So the moral of the story is to keep checking because the rates fluctuate widely. Check out mousesavers.com for more discount rates. Walmart has one, Costco has one, AMEX has one. And on Alamo, when you get within a couple weeks of your trip, check again using "IG" in the rate/product box for any last minute specials. Also, not all of the Costco codes stipulate a minimum and/or Saturday stay. Be sure to try them all. ID #7014627 has no minimums and should get a 25% discount. And Costco coupon AU2291VYT should get you a one class upgrade with no minimum rental required.

You need to ALWAYS book the cheapest reservation that you can for a car rental when you first look. If you find something cheaper you can always rebook and cancel. If you don't book and prices go up you can't go back and book. There is no excuse for waiting on booking a car rental and getting burned because prices go up.

I agree 100%!!!

Back in summer of 08 we went to Sedona, AZ. Flew into Vegas to quick see the strip and Hoover Dam on the way to Sedona, then flew out of Phoenix. I was soooo glad I booked my car early. I thought it was outrageous at $260 compared to MCO rates for midsize SUV. Not long after, gas prices skyrocketed and Alamo started to add drop off fees for one way rentals. By the time we left, the drop off fee alone was $600, plus the rental rate. Totals were almost $900!! :faint: :scared1: :badpc:
Sometimes for Orlando trips, I book, cancel and rebook about 10x by the time we actually leave. :guilty:

MTE

I always book the cheapest I can find. Even if it's way more than I want to spend.
