Just wondering if anyone has successfully used this ecoupon without having to show a paper coupon?

I'm booking 3 vehicles for a group of us and I'm afraid when we'll get there we'll need to show a coupon. Others have called Alamo and were told no paper necessary when it's an ecoupon but I can't help but worry. :worried:

I'll have a lot of people mad at me if it doesn't work but it's such a great coupon, I can't resist. :cool2:
Has anyone used this lately?
tia!!!:goodvibes
btw, Alamo's website allows the use of this coupon code even though it wouldn't accept our BJ's or Costco coupon. :woohoo:

We just returned this evening and we used this coupon code without a paper coupon and it worked great!

It saved us a bundle. Even the employees at the check in desk were showing each other our deal. They laughed and said that basically they were paying us to drive the car for a week! Oh yeah! It was great! :woohoo:

We're not going to chance it.
Got a great rate with Alamo and that coupon, $124. for 9 days. But we figure we will get the person that will want to see the coupon.
So we'll stick with National (EA) $162.
On the plus side with National, we get free days.

I just returned from my trip on 9/25 and I used the same coupon with NO TROUBLE. This coupon is an Ecoupon for $25 off. Alamo never even looked at my paperwork, I used the Kiosk to check in and then I just walked to the parking garage and picked out my car which ended up being a Midsize SUV instead of a Midsize Car because they were out of cars. So I only paid $78 for a Brand New Equinox for 6 days, which wasn't too bad at all!!! :thumbsup2

I've used it before and will use it again without a problem. I do the self check in at alamo and it doesn't ask for it. I have a compact for 9 days for only $98!!

whenever i am unsure of an online coupon i take a "hard copy" of a lesser value backup coupon (or 2 - think entertainment, etc.)...hoping jik they'd use the pre-coupon rate and subtract the 2nd best deal.

anyone know if this is a valid plan?:confused3

Love your Avatar! Hope you don't think I'm being too nosey, but....I am curious! Could you tell me how much you had to pay and what kind of car you rented? How many days did you rent it for? Thanks for any info you can provide.

Is the self check in you use the new kiosk they're advertising? What do you do to sign up for its use and what documents do you need to use self check in, etc? I've never done self check in but sure would like to avoid long check in lines at the counter if possible.:thumbsup2 Many thanks for any info you can provide.

I'm more concerned with the person that checks your paperwork at the exit gate.
btw, I love the lyrics in you siggie. We're big-time Kenny fans  and that video makes me cry every time! :goodvibes

We had a Compact, a Saturn Ion, for 8 days and only paid $69.48!

It could easily hold four adults and even have seated three in the rear seat with very little problem. The A/C on it was great and quick. The trunk was ample for luggage for three without any problem.

We did have to go to the counter since we use a debit/credit card but it was no problem at all using this code.

We had no problem with the lady at the gate. It was more difficult to get the guy at the counter to accept our NO for their insurance! Now that was a big hard sell and we had to say no several times! He kept saying the FL laws had changed and that we could have a big problem if someone stole our rental car.
But we just continued to say no and figured no one in their right mind was going to steal a locked, alarmed compact car in Disney!

Gotta love ALAMO though and Dis Boards! What a great combination!

That's the beauty of the kiosk. It just spits out our ressie exactly as it was entered online from home. No BS. ;)

Could someone explain how the kiosk works? I booked our rental car online with Alamo already but I don't remember having to put any payment information in for our car reservation. I hope we can use the kiosk and not have to go to the counter!!

Subscribing. I also used this coupon and am hoping to use the kiosk. Did I have to pre-pay in order to do so??

You do not have to prepay to use the internet coupon.

We had to go to the desk since we use a debit/credit card instead of a plain credit card.

I filled out the Save Time form from home before we left, entering DL#, address, addl driver info, etc.
When you get to the kiosk, you touch the screen and bring up your ressie. (entering confirmation # I think but can't completely recall)
You just touch the screen to confirm that it's the correct info. I'm pretty sure you swipe your cc too. (sorry, my memory is foggy since we had a late flight after work.)
It will give you a choice of 3 different insurance packages to buy or none at all. That part was confusing and it took a few minutes to figure out how to reject the insurance. After that, it confirms your total and prints out a receipt. It directs you to go choose a car and at the exit booth you must present the printed receipt, the hangtag from the rearview mirror, your DL and your cc.
I would definitely use it again.:thumbsup2

btw, if you're not using a coupon or ecoupon, your ressie will let you check in online from home and you can skip the kiosk entirely, also eliminates the Save Time form too. You just walk into the garage, pick out a car and present your papers printed from home. Easy as pie but not so great that I'd pass on the $25 coupon!

I would so love to use the kiosk! Where is it located????? The last time we used Alamo, we also had a hard, annoying counter person trying to sell us insurance.

Just go to the counter and you'll see several of them. When we were there a few weeks ago, there was no line and only 1 other person using a kiosk. Then again, it was about 10 pm.
Just take your time and make sure the total is what you're expecting before you press "accept."

Thanks! So then you go out to the lot and just choose your class of car? Say if I am renting a standary SUV and I don't see any? Then what?

Yes, we had a full-size so we just go to the fs aisle and pick one out. The keys are in the ignition. If you need help there's a mini-office near the cars which you'll pass as you get to the cars. It's great to be able to choose the color, leather vs. fabric, moonroof, etc. It was all very easy.
If they're all out of your reserved vehicle just go to the office/booth in the garage though this has never happened to us. I suppose it happens during peak holiday times.
