What are they like? Their example of a compact is a Nissan Versa, and I am not familiar with that car. Does anyone know of cars they feel are comparable in size to the Nissan Versa? We will be just driving from the airport to WDW, and around the World. So, we won't spending much time in it. I will be myself, DH ( who is 6'5) DD 3 and DS 1. We will have two carseats, probably 2 suitcases, and two umbrella strollers. So, will this all fit?
We could upgrade to the midsize, but don't want to spend the extra money if we don't have to.

Thanks :)

We were given a Ford Focus.

My DH works for Nissan...you won't get 2 suitcases in the back of a Versa unless they are carry on size.

Alamo has "reclassified" their sedan fleet to upsize the classifications in most cases. Whatever category you choose, be aware that the cars Alamo will offer will usually be one EPA class smaller. (The EPA scale for sedans is Subcompact (85-99 cu.ft.), Compact (100-109), Mid-size (110-119) and Large (120 and larger.))

The Versa is actually a subcompact on the EPA scale. The interior volume is 93.8 cubic feet, with 13.8 cubic feet of cargo space. Someone who is 6'5" is going to have a hard time driving it without hitting his knees under the dash.

To find out how it compares to a vehicle that you are familiar with, just google the year and model of that vehicle plus the words "specifications" and "volume".

We got a Versa in 2009 and DH and I were able to fit not only our two regular sized suitcases and a carry-on, but also some groceries we stopped at Walmart to pick up. We had plenty of room for our stuff. I'm 6' w/ pretty long legs but had plenty of leg room for driving.

Last year, we went w/ a compact and got some kind of Kia. It had plenty of space, but I was more annoyed it didn't have electric window and locks...but, it did have an iPod port! :confused3
