Alamo car rental cancellation policy?

If no credit card information is given for a rental upon reservation, is it okay to cancel the day of pick-up, if this is done at a much earlier time?

although I have not cancelled the day of, I have cancelled the day before. I would think because they don't have your credit card there would not be a penalty.

I've found that as long as I don't give a credit card, there is no penalty.
