I think I read somewhere that Alamo car rentals is now on-site at Orlando Airport. When I read my tickets(not long to go!!) the paper work said I had to take a bus to their depot. Which is correct? Even though we booked our flydrive with Virgin apparently their rep is not avalible to help us as we don't have a 'package' with them(charming). Last time we got really lost in the airport and ended lugging our suitcases up and down outside trying to find the shuttle. I thought DH was going to have a heart attack. I am slightly concerned about finding our way out of the airport and on to the right road, especially after a long flight. I really wanted to pick up the car from the depot on site at disney, like we did last time, but Thomas Cook couldn't sort that out despite my asking several times.

Hi

I believe that Alamo have been on site for a while now. The rental desks are very well signposted so you shouldn't have a problem finding them.

Can I ask, You mentioend that you booked a fly-drive through Virgin - I thought all their rental cars came from Dollar. Have Virgin changed their Car rental company?

Hi mpet,
thanks for the reassuring reply. Well, I went into Thomas Cook and I said I wanted a flight with Virgin and a hire car. I left it with the agent and she sorted it out for me. I was under the impression we had a Virgin flydrive, I was not told otherwise, so maybe I don't! The paper work seems OK so whatever we should get a flight and car, I hope!!!

I think you will find this will be a bonus as all the other people on your flight (that are having cars) will all queue up at the dollar /virgin desk and you will be one of very few that will be at the Alamo desk. One year we flew with Virgin but got the car hire from the net cheaper than Virgin. On arrival a rep asked us if we had a car booked, we of course replied yes and were ushered to the Virgin/Dollar desk when we eventually got to the front we were told that our car was not booked with Vigin and had to go to the normal Dollar desk.If we had known that we could have saved half an hour . So please enjoy your extra half an hour in Florida.
