Hi,
I know this has been asked before but.....

Can anyone walk me through the procedure of redeeming an alamo gift card for a rental.
Thank you.

Order the certificates from Airmiles as soon as you can. Make your Alamo reservation when you find a rate you like. You don't need the certificate(s) to do this. Once you're received the certificates in the mail (typically takes 1-2 weeks for us) call Alamo to have the certificate number(s) added to the reservation. Then, when you get to the Alamo desk at the airport just hand them the certificates and you're good to go. We've done this with our last three reservations and never had a problem picking up the car in Orlando.

Thanks Mike.

Our total for the rental is 166.15 for the week.
99.35 rent and 66.80 is the extras.
So the most I can use is a 50.00 gift card right?
We are actually renting in Las Vegas and driving over to DLR for a couple of days. I would assume its still the same procedure.
Thanks again.

If you wanted to, you could use a $100 certificate but you'd be throwing away the last $0.65 as it can't be used on the "extras". We've done that as well (but we usually end up throwing away a couple of dollars, rather than less than 1). $100 for a week in Las Vegas? Hmmm, I may just need to book a trip out there sometime... ;)

We've only ever used the certificates in Orlando, but we did book a rental directly from Airmiles in Los Angeles a couple of years ago. Only had to pay the taxes and had no issues whatsoever picking up the car.
