Alamo- Additional driver?

my mom is renting a car from alamo and I am the additional driver(walmart code). If she pays with her visa or mastercard and uses the car rental insurance that is included w/her cc would we both be covered insurance wise? Just thinking someone may know this from past experience?

The best thing to do is call the credit card company. They can give you Mastercard and Visa tel#'s. When you speak with MC/Visa request a "Guide to Benefits". The guide will provide you with the "extra" benefits you have with MC/Visa. There are several "levels" of Mastercard and Visa benefits that have different coverages (i.e. some have travel insurance).

I just did this a few months ago and I received it in writing so that I had peace of mind during my car rental. In addition some car insurance policies carry coverage as well.

I agree with this advice. We cover our rental car with the rider on our insurance policy -- I called them to make sure my additional driver would be covered, and in my case they were since I was the renter and primary driver and the insurance policy was in my name (so it would be the same as using my own vehicle). But credit card companies or other insurance companies might have different rules.
