I have been on vacation, (unfortunetly not to a Disney park :rolleyes1 ), so I have not read the boards for a while. But while reading a reply yesterday, someone said that they were glad the Adadin show is staying.

Is this true? If so, for how long? I am going in November and would be soooo happy to hear that we would be able to see this show. We were thinking we would just have an empty theater.

Thanks!!

Aladdin is staying indefinitely, held over by popular demand. There have been some changes to the show times, due to DCA staying open later and WOC. But until it is announced otherwise, Aladdin is still around.

I am sooooooooooooooo happy!!!!!!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Planning a mother/daughter trip in September with my mom and my sisters and they haven't seen the show. I really hope they will get to see it!

That's great news! :goodvibes We just saw the show for the first time when we were there June 18-22.

I read somewhere Toy Story is taking over in 2011?

That was the plan, but they changed their minds a few months ago. There has been no word why, but it appears they may bowed to public pressure.

Currently, Aladdin has been extended.

Thanks so much for the info, capt silly. I am happy I can see the show!! I am glad something old school is staying in CA, and not changing to pixar. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE pixar movies, but I also love the Disney old school animation.

Amazing loved this show :) would love to watch it on a future trip to DL

I think there were too many complaints about the Toy Story Show and how there was enough Toy Story in the parks already.

Ditto to all the PP......I love the Aladdin show & try to see it on each trip. I hope it is a permanent show. It is just so good. I think the only show at WDW that (IMO) compared was Finding Nemo (Lion King was good, but different). Aladdin is a winner that can definitely stand the test of time!

This is great news, :cool1: i passed this show up so many times, then finally went to see it, and now it is a must do everytime i go to the parks.

Funny.... I was just on the phone last week with the reservation people at Disneyland and she told me without a doubt that it will be gone soon to make way for Toy Story...... ?? I love the show so I am hoping you are all right and she is wrong, wouldn't be the 1st time Diser's have been more informed!!:lmao:

And it is definitely playing later. We were there the opening weekend of WOC and there was a showing of Aladdin in the 8 o'clock hour. Nice!

It was previously announced that the Aladdin show would be ending its run and the last show ever was something like August 15th (ish) 2010, and supposedly a Toy Story show would be replacing it.

So just so I'm clear on things, the change in plans comments above have come after the official announcement that it would be ending this August?

Hmm, who knows, I hope it's true - has it been officially announced anywhere? I'll be going in about a week so I'll search for Hyperion Theater CM "Jonathan" who's a very dedicated Theater CM and Aladdin enthusiast and find out what he knows :genie: .

It was posted on the Disney Parks Blog back in May: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl...nted-genies-run-extended-at-hyperion-theater/

Contrary to earlier reports, the Hyperion Theater won’t be setting the genie free just yet. By popular demand, “Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular” will remain at Disney’s California Adventure park.

We received a lot of comments on the Blog asking for Aladdin to continue its run. It’s almost as if the Genie granted your wish!

Although “Toy Story – The Musical” was scheduled to move into Hyperion Theater following Genie’s last bow, Buzz, Woody and their pals will stay focused on the new additions in Toy Story Mania…for now.

Construction has been scheduled near the Hyperion Theater for August 15. Although that may still impact some performances, we’re doing everything we can to keep the show up and running. Stay tuned to the Blog for updates, and we’ll share details when we have them (or, you can always check disneyland.com for showtimes).

Now, close your eyes, make a wish and hit play to see Genie in action. And don’t forget to tell us your favorite Genie joke – and oh, no wishes for more wishes.

Although it doesn't say anything about Toy Story not replacing it at some point in the future. Just not ... for now. Unless there's another report that came out that I never saw.
