A friend of mine just told me about these genie signs throughout the parks for anyone that needs help. She told me if you need help to stand in front of one of these signs (with a picture of the blue genie from Aladin) and a CM will come to you asking how they can help you. I have been to the parks several times but do not remember seeing this or ever hearing about it. Has anyone here heard of this? :confused3

TIA Tina

I have never heard of this and they are not mentioned that I can see in either the general Guidemaps or the that I got for each park in the last 2 weeks at WDW. If they do exist, I would expect to see some mention of them there to tell people what they are.

I have never seen any signs like that in any of the parks.
Very frankly, I can't see much use for signs like that because there are CMs visible all over that you can ask for help and there would be quite a few guests standing there just because they are stopped, not needing help.

Yeah, I never heard of this myself but she was telling me a story last night at work how her son who went to DL through Make a Wish was told this and she said her son started to poop out and needed a wheel chair so she spotted the genie sign and stood in front of it and within a few minutes a CM came up to her and helped her get a wc. I have been to DW several times and never remember seeing these signs and honestly don't really see the need for something like that for the reasons you give. And why a genie...why the need for a secret code like that...who would ever know that is what the genie sign is for?!?!?! Thanks, wanted to get the facts on that.

I've never heard of this either. And I was at DL less than a month ago and did not notice any such signs.

I hope no one takes this the wrong way...

Maybe she just happened to be standing by a genie sign, a CM saw her, and in her mind she connected the sign to the CM.

People tend to make connections that are not there with things like this, when they don't have all the facts to fill in the holes in a story. I'm guessing this was her first or one of few visits to a Disney park? If so, I would bet she has no idea how much CMs do for guests. At most amusement parks, retail outlets, any public place really, an employee would just pass by. She may not have even realized all she had to do was ask anyone with a name tag to get assistance. I certainly hope she and her son had a magical trip.
