Can someone please explain what the preferred seating for Aladdin is? I don't understand where we get the tickets from? (as always confused) :confused3

I'm not totally sure either but I think when you book through certain places (like the disney travel store that's at downtown disney) you get a package with a few magical extras like priority seating for Aladdin and a magic morning. It gives you seats right down the front of the show. I'd love to try priority seating for Aladdin so I have my name down on the Dis list and if anyone has some they don't want to use, they go to the list and give them away to the first person.

There is no assigned seating...

The Hyperion has three levels of seating.
Orchestra: Lower level, with the back half raised and under the next level.
Mezzanine: Middle level, you must walk up 55 steps or wait for the elevator.
Balcony: Top level, and additional stairs or escalator.

The Hyperian has about 1,800 seats, With Wheelchair sections at the back of each level. Orchestra holds about 1,000, Mezzanine about 450, Balcony 350.

Starting about one hour before the show time, They fill in the waiting areas in order: Orchestra - Mezzanine - Balcony. There is a smaller VIP waiting section.

10 minutes before show time they let in the VIP section into the Orchastra section lower level, and begin the the climb to the upper levels. Then open the Orchestra section to the upper Orchestra entrance. (Handicapped is allowed to use the lower entrance). You can then go from the upper Orchestra and fill in any open seat in the lower section. All levels are entered from the top, and exit after the show at the botom.

At the show time they close the doors and stop letting people in and make the announcement about no flash photography in English, Japanese, and Spanish. About 5 minutes later a cast member standing in front of the stage with a headset makes sure that everyone is seated, tells them to start, and exits.

Everyone has a different favorite spot. I like the right front of the Orchestra section as you can see the performers up close during the Key scenes. Others like front and center, or the front of the raised Orchestra section. The front or center of the Mezzanine is a good spot to see the show overall, and you get a great view of the flying carpet. The Balcony is very high and nobody wants to sit there.

If you show up 30-45 minutes early you will get the Orchestra section. 15-30 minutes early the Mezzanine, and close the show time the Balcony.

From the Mezzainine: they no longer allow anyone in the front row...

You only get VIP vouchers with some vacation plans where you book your hotel and DL Tickets together. (AAA, etc.).

To get the seats in the front row to the raised section at the back of Orcheastra, you need to have VIP Vouchers, or arrive when they open the waiting area 50-60 minutes before show time.

Nice recap :)

You can get the vouchers when booking directly through the Walt Disney Travel Company, or through a travel agency that books through the Walt Disney Travel Company, like Dreams Unlimited Travel (the agency that sponsors this site).

If the question is more one of mechanics, if you have the preferred vouchers, as you arrive at the theatre there's a small cart with an umbrella over it clearly marked VIP. Head over there, show them your vouchers, they'll either tear them out or mark over them with marker, and put you in a separate queue for entry.

So could one person go in early and save seat for the rest of their party? Or is it better to have everyone go early?
Thanks :)

Is this just for packages? We have a room only that we booked through Disney but nothing was mentioned about Aladding.

I was told that if you buy the Passport Plus tickets (ticket only) from AAA you get a booklet that includes preferred seating -- I also picked up the Disneyland brochure today and it said that. There was also a previous post in answer to my question about what "perks" come with the AAA passport plus tickets and someone stated they just bought them and got the preferred seating -- so it looks like it is just not with packages only.
