I read somewhere that Aladdin is leaving (I am soooo sad about that!!) And that Toy Story is coming in, when is Aladdin leaving and when is the new show supposed to start, does anyone know??

Yep, there is going to be a big chunk of time between August 2010 and early 2011 where nothing is happening at the Hyperion at all. I would have thought that they would try to get Toy Story: The Musical in there closer to when Toy Story 3 comes out in theaters, just to capitalize on that.

Also, I wonder if I am the only one who feels this way, but I must say that even though I am eager to see the upcoming changes at DCA when they are all finished in 2012-ish, I hate the fact that so many things are being disrupted simultaneously in a seemingly short span of time. First we have all of these walls up in DCA, interrupting the flow of foot traffic. Then, there is the whole eyesore that is the bay while the WoC crews work their magic. I personally liked the mouse icon/shape in California Screamin' and I am sorry that was removed. Certain shops and dining establishments have closed. Now Aladdin will be long gone before Toy Story: The Musical ever debuts. Not to mention the other disruptions in the Paradise Pier area, the parking situation and over at the former Golden Dreams Theatre. I get the fact that Disney is trying to make a valiant effort to revamp DCA quickly and lure in people, and I think the finished product will be great, but there are so many things happening at once that it upsets the flow of the park for me.

You know, every year we go there and every year we have said oh we will do that later, and never do. Until last trip, Oh my gosh what an experience. I was not sure after waiting out in the rain for a while what to expect. Almost bailed a couple of times. But I am glad we did not. It was fantastic. Especially Genie. My little boys loved it too. Cannot believe we have never made time for it before this. Now I find out my mom will never see it? We are going for the Christmas season as usual. I just got done telling her how much she is going to love it. Guess not.

I saw Aladdin for the first time last summer and was greatly surprised at how wonderful it was! Wow! A CM told us there that they were considering Toy Story at the time but were looking at other shows. I was shocked that they chose Toy Story b/c it is the same musical from the Disney Cruise Line that was reportedly not being well received. I would have liked to Lion KIng or Finding Nemo replace Aladdin if anything b/c they are critically acclaimed musicals. I will see Aladdin again for the last time next month and will savor every minute of it.. But,, change must come...:confused3
