Aladdin musical @ DCA - A must see?

I dragged my 27 year old Marine son to it last year.
And I mean dragged, he would have rather "go on the Monsters Inc ride again than go to see the dumb Alladin show"
We wound up going to see the show again later on that day, he liked it so much.
I am getting a trip to CA for my birthday and I plan on seeing the show at least once a day.

Definately a MUST DO.

Here is a thread I created awhile back with a few pictures I took that will give you an idea of what to expect.

It is the type of show you might pay $60 a ticket for on broadway.

Where you sit really doesn't matter. Don't worry about getting there early and standing in a long line. We actually prefer Mezannine seating.

We'll be heading to the park today and it's on our list.

To let you know how crazy we are about the show...DH and I had seen it when he went on a business trip with me. We loved it. DD was 2 at the time, and was not with us. 2 years ago Disneyland announced the show was closing and set a closing date (obviously it later changed its mind). We were going to go to WDW that summer. We cancelled our WDW plans and booked a trip to DL instead, just so DD (then 4)- and an Aladdin fan- could see the Aladdin show before it closed.

This show is a MUST DO!!! It's just full of action, comedy, romance, drama etc. It is so tastefully done, and Genie steals the show in my opinion. But there is something in the show for everyone to enjoy all the way through.

Speaking of the Aladdin shwo, did they work out how to safely incorporate the flying carpet back into the show?

We were there last month and it wasn't flying.

There was a show during which one of the cables holding up the carpet snapped. Nobody was hurt but the actors were left dangling in their harnesses.

I posted above, but I will add that we are planning another trip to DL, and last night as we were talking about the trip, DD (6) looked at me with big eyes and said "Is the Aladdin show still there?" (She remembers that 2 years ago we went to DL because it was supposed to be leaving). When I said yes, she started jumping up and down and cheering. Even though she has already seen it twice, it is still a priority for her!

Yes that's right. It happened in like October or November of last year. They need to come up with a solution, cause that is a real highlight to that show. I am happy no one was hurt in the show, but still you would think after 5-6 months they would have found a way to bring back a magical flying carpet effect in a way that was perfectly safe.

This is a make it or break it question for me. Is this show a recording or are the actors actually talking and singing live? I saw beauty and the beast in disneyworld one year and it was all recordings. I absolutely HATED every minute of it because of that. And it was just silly...

The Genie makes jokes about current events that happened YESTERDAY.

I'm guessing it's all Live. Can anyone else confirm?

It is live singing.
A cast member who is often asked answer is:
The singing is live, but the dancing is fake.

I have not read all 3 pages~

My girls are now 15 & 12, they love the Aladdin show and will ask to go see it themselves. It's a great show, highly recommended!!

Yes, this is a must-do! The entrance parade alone is worth the time you'll invest. In my opinion, this is the best show at any WDW or DLR park!
