Thursday, Dec 5 Going home
For the first time we did not eat breakfast in our hotel room. JohnTBap and I realized our WDW trips would share this one day in common so she graciously suggested our families meet for breakfast. We chose to do a resort meal so I would not have to use park admission for a meal.
Since we had to pack and load the van for check out, we were running last minute. This was our first time to use the TTC so I didnt realize how long it would take. We parked in the MK lot and took the tram to the TTC, then waited on the monorail. Naturally, we wanted to go to the Contemporary which I should have just parked at, but instead had to loop the other direction and make every other stop before arriving a full 30 minutes late!!!
Fortunately, Mrs. and Mr. JohnTBap were waiting on us and we were able to walk into Chef Mickeys!
What a great breakfast! The food wasnt bad and the character interaction was great. It was a wonderful final day for Lela who wanted to see Mickey one more time before she left WDW.
On the way back to the TTC she was allowed to ride in the front of the monorail which thrilled dad more than it did her.
It was a thrill to meet a Net friend and her husband in person and my only regret was that we couldnt spend more time together.
We probably left about noon and returned to Montgomery where we immediately picked up Rebeccas guide dog who she missed terribly. The next morning it was back to Huntsville to pick up our two year old who Rebecca has not let out of her sight since!
It was a great trip and some things we enjoyed besides the parks were:
- Talking to other guests in lines and on the buses; everyone is so nice and polite.
- Having our maid arrange Lelas plush animals one out of three days. On one day, she didnt even take the mousekeeping envelope. I made it more prominent on the other days.
- Enjoying great weather and small crowds.
We cant wait to go back. I thought we would wait until our youngest was 5 since this was a trip we told Lela she could have when she was 5 years old, but Rebecca wants us to go back on our anniversary (just the two of us) since we have one day left on our park hopper tickets.
Im trying to convince her that it would be better to store the day for our next trip since one day would be such a tease for such a long drive down. Well see what happens in October.
