It was a great game! Sorry to see that the Texas quarterback got hurt - it's never a good thing when one of the players gets hurt no matter who you're cheering for.

I think it would have been a whole different game if Colt had been playing. But we'll never know.

My DD is in her freshman year at UT and is pretty sad today, but her last Twitter update was , "It's ok guys I still love you!!"

Poor Colt. His last college game and he got hurt....

No sore loser here either. Just mostly sad for Colt.

I think that Texas defense did an awesome job, Alabama kept scoring on the mistakes of our freshman QB.

It definitely would have been a different game, but we can't live in how it could have been. I think Gilbert shows lots of promise. Hopefully, we'll be back next year.

Absolutely! He had a tough start, but then he really showed why he was recruited so heavily and was back-up to Colt!

You're right but it makes it easier for me to deal with the loss!

I believe that Texas has nothing to be embarrassed about for last night's game though. They held their own with the bad card that they had been dealt.

My DH has been saying all year that he thinks that Gilbert will be better than Colt, so watch out for the years to come!!

I just read an ESPN article that says that Alabama's QB played with two broken ribs. McElroy had two ribs broken during the 3rd quarter of the SEC Championship. He'd had some improvement, but then a re-injury. He was in a lot of pain last night. Makes me feel bad for yelling at him and explains why Bama had to rely soley on the running game.

Both teams played very well. Sometimes you're dealt a bad blow & you do the best with what you've got. And really, when it it's all said and done, it's just a game.
