Al posted his latest Disneyland update today ( http://www.miceage.com/allutz/al071707d.htm ) and one of the tidbits he threw out was:

Meanwhile, outside the parks, there's even more in the pipeline. The Disney Vacation Club (DVC) units that were slated to begin work this year at the Grand, and then put on hold while the DCA budget saga worked itself out, are now back on the front burner.

And last week construction trailers showed up next to the DVC offices at DL- ooooohhhhh, I really hope the Grand Californian DVC is really going to happen, and soon!

I think this is far more likely that CRV....I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you west coasters! :goodvibes

I wouldn't trust Miceage.com as a credible source of Disney news or information.

They're the ones who reported a few weeks ago that the Year of a Million Dreams was cancelled.
Ya...Right! :lmao:

I'm right there with you Squidmo! Now that the DCA Segway tour has started, I might have to take a quickie trip down to DL.

Al Lutz is also the very first to report on recent attractions like Toy Story Mania and the pirate refurb of DL's Tom Sawyer Island. His track record is much better than many other Disney fansites, IMO.

The misleading comment about YOAMD originated with higher-ups in Disney marketing who were not very precise in the message delivered to others. What IS ending is the "Where Dreams Come True" portion of the campaign. The original one-sentence blurb was posted on a Saturday and revised the following day when the situation was clarified.

I don't recall anyone reporting the correct story about "Where Dreams Come True" before Al, and I think his track record speaks for itself. He doesn't get it right all the time, but his results are better than most.

Honor Hunter at Blue Sky Disney is saying his sources have corroborated the information in Al's article (http://blueskydisney.blogspot.com/)

Here's a nibblet from today's Blue Sky Disney update:

We'll start to see things pick up come fall. By the beginning of the year the hive of activity around DCA will be hard to miss. Many of the people asking when is it going to get started will finally notice that it already has...

The plans for the DVC units has been approved. Plans have been drawn up for the grass field behind the hotel to become Disney's first time share... but certainly not the last.

Gotta disagree with you on this. While he can get on my nerves, Al Lutz has a very strong track record on Disney news and rumors. Does he sometimes get it wrong? Absolutely. But, he does have his sources and I would absolutely trust anything that he publishes.

Al gets on my nerves too. However last week it was hinted to me, by a well placed person, that work had already started on the GC DVC. So Al is most likely correct on this one. And, only he and Blue Sky are reporting anything. All the others are in hiding.

To add to Tim's comments about MiceAge. It is very telling that several sites are reporting the same information this morning as MiceAge. Either they trust his sources, or they have their own sources that agree with him. I think as soon as Disney resolves the housing issue with Disney, we will hear an announcement. Maybe by the end of the month, as Anaheim has given Disney and Suncal until then to hammer something out. (P.S. I think Disney wants that 27 acres. I would not be suprised to see Disney purchase from SunCal, and then give Anaheim some cash toward a "low income housing fund" similar to a donation that WDW gave Osceola County, Florida a few years ago to allow the building of Osceola Parkway to move forward. Once this all happens, there will be a floodgate of announcements.

I hope Lutz is correct, too. Surely if they are putting a billion dollars into California Adventure a DVC makes sense for Disney. I would love to go on a DVC GC tour when I am at DL in October . . . hoping to go on a tour anyway since I didn't before buying.

Of course work has already started on CRV as well... :teeth:

Al Lutz has an excellent track record. Unlike some Disney fan site authors who simply repeat anything they hear from any source, Al appears to have built a network of internal sources.

I hope oyur P.S. turns out to be accurate. That would be excellent if it happened. Disney needs every acre they can get in California. I've always thought it was dumb of them to not agressively go after the Gardenwalk land. That would have been an important, primo piece of land that would have connected where their two major tracts of land are.
