Are AKV and AKL DVC the same?

Some DVC villas are in Kidani and some in Jambo house? So you can book at either?

Believe AKL refers to the general public hotel at Jambo and AKV refers to the DVC villas which include both Jambo & Kidani. when book can decide on either DVC villa location.

AKV (Animal Kingdom Villas) is the name of the Animal Kingdom DVC resort. It consists of two parts: Kidani and Jambo. Kidani is entirely DVC villas. The Jambo portion of the DVC resort shares a building with AKL. AKL (Animal Kingdom Lodge) is the hotel, not DVC.

Both portions of AKV can be booked by DVC owners with points. Some villas in both portions are available to cash guests if not booked by DVC owners or if DVC owners trade out. Hotel rooms at AKL are not available for points.

Yes - if you buy a contract, it will be at one or the other, but it doesn't matter, they are both treated as one and you can book at 11 month window for either location. Some prefer Kidani and some Jambo. Personally if I'm in a Savannah room I prefer Kidani, but otherwise I'd rather be in Jambo for the amenities.
