I'm a new owner at Animal Kingdom Villas (yay!). I am planning a pre-cruise stay in February 2020; it would be 2-nights. I don't NEED to stay in a value, but figure if I can save the points, I might as well. Of course I know people walk these reservations so its pretty much impossible to get a studio even 11 months out. This is my plan: 11 months out book the 2 nights I want in the room I'm ok staying in (probably savanna view, Jambo house). And waitlist the same nights in a value. Should I
A) Waitlist both nights together.
B) Do a separate waitlist for each night; I would keep my previous AKV reservation (I have the extra points to hold it). And I would only switch to a value if BOTH nights become available; otherwise I'd cancel the one-night Value and keep the savanna view.
Also, should I wait until the 11 month mark to make a waitlist? Or should I submit the request when the last 2 nights are within the 7 days and modify the request to the 2 nights? Does modifying a waitlist request bump you down in the queue, or do you continue to hold the original spot?
