AKV Value Studio

I can book one of these through "CRO" for $465 a night over Christmas & Newyear,Are they "Worth" this??? Oh & would they be big enough for 2 adults & a child?? Or would it be a "Tight Squeeze" Personally i think that $465 a night is a Steal!! But then u get what u pay for!

No way, not a chance. Don't forget the taxes too.

We have stayed in one of these rooms. No hot tub, nothing special, just a regular hotel room converted for DVC so it is not as large as a deluxe studio. Plus you have no idea what kind of view you are going to get.

It's got a queen bed a double sofa bed, double sinks in the dressing area, and a kitchenette. I think that it would certainly fit 2 adults and 1 child.

No...they are not slightly larger. The Value studios are the smallest villas that DVC offers at AKV, Jambo. They are 3 ft. shorter from the door to the balcony than the other studios at Jambo. I have stayed in one many times with my DH and it is fine. If I had 3 adults, I wouldn't want to stay in one, I would go for a value 1 bedroom. However, I really think with a child and 2 adults you could enjoy the stay.

I really like the double sinks.

According to the Unofficial Guide to WDW, the square footage for a deluxe room at AKL is 344. Whereas a AKV value studio is 316 square feet. A value studio is definitely smaller than a regular cash room.

I'm renting one of these through a DVC member using their points in October and it averages out to be $100 per night. No taxes will be added.

That is "Awesome" For me i have decided against the "Value Studio" as i feel that for 3 people it will be "Cramped" & i doubt very much that it would be available through a D.V.C member over Christmas & Newyear for $100 a night Still you have a bargain i am sure,But for me it's a No,No

The difference with the OP situation is that the amount of points during your week and the week they are looking for is huge. A week during October in the value studio is 69 points, whereas the OP is looking for the premier season which is 118 points for the week. At a rate of $12 a point (the average I've seen), your vacation would be $828, which would be little over $100 a night. The OP's week would be $1416 if they were even able to get a value studio during that week at all (I am assuming that by now that week is gone to the owners of AKV who booked at 11 months).

As for the OP's original question, I do think the value studios would be big enough for 2 adults and 2 children. Just all depends if it's worth the money to pay that for the room for the OP!

I am actually very surprised that the "Value Studios" are available through "CRO" for booking!! Especially between Christmas& Newyear,I read frequently on here how "Difficult" it is to get one through D.V.C..So if they are that "Hard to come by" how come they are available for a cash booking

Thanks for the link to the pictures & As i imagined yes it would be a "Tight Squeeze" for 3 people Thats just my opinion though Just had another look for availability over Christmas & newyear & intrestingly enough a 1Br Value Villa is available through "CRO" just as is a 1 BR CL Villa & a Deluxe Studio CL, If they are so hard to come by for D.V.C members how are they all showing availabilty through "CRO"

I just booked 5 value studios for our family trip today for the week of Feb 5th. First time staying in one but most in each room will be 2 adults and a 4 year old so im hoping we are good. Hope no one else wants one that week i know there are not many.

Thank You so much for the link to see the pictures The Value studio doesnt actually look too small but we all know that pictures can be deceiving Perhaps it would be big enough for 2 adults and a teenager Sigh should i book one or not

You would all fit in there fine.I just wouldn't pay that kind of money for a studio.

And the value studios should be the same size a regular studio at AKL because at one time, they were regular hotel rooms. They were converted a few years back.

No, they aren't the same size. The Value villas were converted out of rooms that were shorter in depth by about 3 feet from the other hotel rooms. So, there isn't the room you get in the standard or savanna view villas. In the one and two bedroom Value villas, there isn't room for the sleeper chair.

I think there is some confusion when comparing Value Villas to regular resort hotel rooms at AKV. I believe the OP is not wanting to compare villa to villa.

All I can say is WOW!! on that price, but it is what it is. That week is extremely busy and few discounts. I am completely out of touch on the rack rates.

The value villas are very well laid out, and if you did not know they were "value", you would not think them very small. BLT studio feels smaller to me and while we have had 4 in a Value studio, I would not do it in a BLT studio. That "slice of Kitchenette/Vanity takes away floor space in the living area.

Love the double sink vanity and 2 full length mirrors. Lots of underbed storage because the beds sit up high. Some values have closets, if I remember correctly.
