Just reserved 4 nites in Jan at AKV value studio before a week at BCV 1 BEDROOM. Does Anyone know what the VALUE STUDIO actually is. It was the only studio available besides SSR, so wee decided to give it a try. Thanks for any help and I will be posting pics when i get back

The value studios are just somewhat smaller than the other studios, due to DVC having to retro-fit villas into existing AKL rooms. IIRC, the views will be either pool or savanna.:thumbsup2

The Value studios are 50 sq ft smaller than the other studios in Jambo House. The possible views are pool, savanna or parking lot. There won't be very many parking lot view rooms compared to the other two views so your odds of getting a parking lot view are pretty small I think.

So you just reserved a value studio at AKV 6 months out? I would have thought they would be tough to get at 7 mos because of their cheap point cost. They seem to be the best deal in DVC, especially if you luck out with a savanna view.

I think that will be true eventually, but right now most of us new owners are more concerned with getting that savanna view guaranteed! Once Kidani is built, I think the value rooms will be in high demand.

I agree with Diane that many AKV owners want a guaranteed savanna view for their first stay at AKV. I also think that it's not too difficult to get a Value room less than 7 months out at the moment because there are not that many AKV owners yet. There is also some confusion among DVC members about exactly what a Value room is and what the view will be. Also, the construction schedule was changed (opening Value rooms in Dec '07 rather than May '08) after many AKV members had already booked their first stay. Perhaps after being on hold for ages to get that initial reservation, people didn't want to call back and go through that again to try to switch to a Value room.

This is probably the best time to try for a Value room because I think they will become harder to book once the number of AKV owners increases and after we have a better idea how many Value rooms will have a savanna or pool view vs. the parking lot view.
