AKV Value Studio @ 7 month window

What are my chances of successfully booking 7 nights in a Value room in May next year?

Trying to play around with our points and work out how many I'd need to borrow if we'd have no chance of getting one.

There are more value studios than 1 or 2 bedrooms because some are dedicated studios, but you do stand a better chance of getting standard view because they are in Jambo and Kidani. May would be a good time to try for a value, I just don't know about all 7 nights.

I was able to book a 1-bedroom for the last week of April- first week of May this year at 7 months.
There is always a chance.

would think your chances are pretty good.

just a few times had to take a standard view.

most people who want AKL/AKV want the savannah view and will pay more points to get it.

my stays in value have always been pool not savannah of course did not get the parking lot view either.

Hi! I'm staying at AKV Jambo House mid April on rented points and the DVC member I'm renting from was able to secure a Value Studio at about 7 and a half months out. Would've loved a 1 bdrm, but instead we're going to love the longer stay with a better price tag! We're hardly in the room anyway!

Please let us know how you did. I've tried for a value studio at the AKVat the 7 month window several times now and have never managed to get one. We never go during holidays -- so tried for late January and early November, but it's never available when we call. Only standard has been available.

I called for a value studio right on my 7 month mark for Feb. 2011 and I got it I was so thrilled to save the points, now I just have to hope I don't get the parking lot view. DH and I are going to get out of the cold of Pennsylvania for a week in February. Our AP's expire this Oct, right after our 4 nite stay in BCV so I don't know if I want to get them in February or just enjoy the resort and relax. Good luck with your value at AKV at the 7 month mark.

I got a value studio for our stay in May and I only booked about 2 month before.

I first used the online booking form and gave 3 choices:

1. Value Studio AKV
2. Regular Studio AKV
3. Studio VWL

They wrote back that there was no availability for any of the resorts I mentioned but they had limited availability for studios at SSR and OKW.

So I gave them a call to make sure I get anything. I somehow mentioned that it was too bad that there were no more studios available at AKV and she said "But there is, I have a value studio available if you are interested."

What is the difference between the dedicated vs. lock-offs? Is one larger than another?

Dedicated are stand-alone studios that are always rented as studios. Lock-Offs are connected to 1-BR villas and can either be used as studios or combined with the 1-BR to become a 2-BR villa.

So, if more 2-BR villas are rented, the amount of lock-off studios decreases.
