What is different about the value rooms other than the points? are they smaller? Are they in Jambo only? Do they have everything in them like the standard rooms? Washer dryer, kitchen etc? I am interested in the 1 or 2 BDR. It is my home resort so I have the 11 month window advantage. I assume because of the low points they are hard to get.

Thanks,
Dana :)

They are in Jambo only and in the front part of the building. They are "value" because they are smaller size. They are otherwise similar to other rooms, including that 1BRs (and thus 2BRs) have a kitchen and w/d, except the 1BRs don't have the sleeper chair in the living room (it wouldn't fit). View can be pool (40% of values), Sunset Savanna (40% of values), or parking lot (20% of values). You can request view but is not guaranteed. Because of low number, generally best to reserve 11 months out and not wait. Getting them closer to date of arrival is hit or miss although some have reported getting one at 7 months out (and others have reported otherwise).

We had a value 1 BR last trip for my DW and I. It was a little shorter (i.e. not as deep) as the other rooms, but not at all uncomforatble. Also the balcony seemed to be not as deep as well. But other than that, a wonderful room at a great point cost.

I went with 2 girlfriends and the value 1-bedroom was great for us. It was tight in the master bedroom..king bed, but not much room to close the door. The bathroom is down a hall from the living room/kitchen and across the hall from the bedroom. The point cost is what caused me to book it, it was for a long weekend. I'd do it again whenever I need a villa for 3 adults. We had pool view. Even for just the long weekend, we used the washer/dryer.

I am wondering if anyone knows HOW MANY value rooms there are in Jambo?

Thanks! :goodvibes

I know there are 10 1BR values. (2 parking lot views, 4 savannah and 4 pool views)

We took a trip at the end of Sept 09. Didn't book the room until mid July, so I think it depends on the time you travel as to how hard they are to book. Good luck!

No sleeper chair in Value rooms so they only sleep 4 or 8

I like the layout and although they are smaller they offer the dual sink vanity which I prefer. Some of the older DVC resorts only have single sinks in their regular size studios.

Ok I'm sorry but I'm thinking of booking onsite for the first time and am totally overwhelmed and out of my element here. There are value one bedrooms in Jambo only on the fifth floor, right? Does that mean you are too far up to see the animals?

Nevermind. I see that website has nice photos so you can see what the views are like from several value accommodations. There are no values in Kidani, right?

That is correct. Only Jambo House has Value rooms. They are on the 5th floor. Some of them face the Sunset Savanna, some face the pool area and some face the parking lot.

Don't forget that the value 1BRs only have one bathroom, whereas the standard Kidani 1BRs have two bathrooms, one off of the living room.

Here's the list of items in the 1BRs per the MS website.

Value Rooms sleep up to four, all others sleep up to five
Master bedroom suite with king-size bed
Master bathroom with whirlpool tub (additional bathroom in living area of One-Bedrooms in Kidani Village only)
Queen-size sleeper sofa in living room
Sleeper chair in living room (except in Value Accommodations)
Flat-panel TV and DVD player in living room, and flat-panel TV in master bedroom
Full kitchen includes: coffee maker, dinnerware, glassware, flatware, pots and pans, microwave, toaster, stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and more
Laundry area contains stacked washer and dryer
Private balcony
629 sq. ft. Value villa; 710 -sq. ft. Standard villa in Jambo House; 807 sq. ft. in Kidani Village

Had a Value studio on our trip in may. I thought it was a great value!

We got a savannah view and while there wasn't that much to see it was still nice. One night there were 2 giraffes right in front of our balcony.

The value savanna views are at the farthest end, I read a review on tripadvisor which had some photos as well. That person did not see a whole lot of animals. However, the room is only marginally smaller than other jambo 1 BRs, thus sacrificing the sleeper chair in the living room.

On the whole, a great value, you pay less than standard, and potentially get a better view. As others have said, the Kidani 1 BRs are newer and bigger than Jambo.

Not necessarily true, our value studio was really close to the lobby, actually the second room on the right on Ostrich trail.

We just stayed in the blt studio and found it to be a bit smaller than the typical standard studio at akv. Has anybody stayed in both the akv value studio and the blt studio? If so, how do these compare in size?
