Had a wonderful stay at AKV in 2BR. Our room was on the Zebra trail on the main savanah. Great views and animals.

Greats:
- Check in - Fast
- weather 80s and sunny
- Fultons crab house - Wow
- Bomas - Potato soup
- Night Vision - Very cool
- Magic Masters - bought another trick
- Room was beautiful, furniture, kitchen
- Flat TV's - wonderful
- Cape Mays!!!- Great food

Goods
- Pool - nice and big
- Bus service - 15 min
- Fires were neat (at hotel)
- Lots of activities

Bads
- Still felt like I was in the middle of no where (could be good too)
- Long drive to anything
- Where is the walk in shower (only tub with showers)
- The dinning plan seems much cheaper (I hate having to tip....very incomfortable)
- Internet - slow and not free...when is it free (not soon enough)
- Time to build a path to Animal Kingdom
- Yak and Yeti (Restaurant at AK...food was not good)

All in all great trip... I look foreward to staying at BWV (our favorite resort). AKL is wonderful but I think it will take some time to grow on me.

Glad that you enjoyed AKV. Also glad to hear that check in went well. I will have to try the night vision goggles!

Sorry to hear that the Internet was slow. From what has been reported here, free Internet for DVC members staying on points will start in the spring.

Could you please tell me more about these night googles?? I will be going there in June, thanks :)

Answer: Kidani Village.

In Jambo House, the only rooms with shower stalls are the HA rooms -- they have roll-in showers but no tubs -- and the GVs. The other rooms in Jambo House have combined tub and showers.

I agree about the night vision goggles -- very cool!

- Yak and Yeti (Restaurant at AK...food was not good)
Are you talking about the Table Service or the Counter Service? We ate at the Counter Service and are now calling it the "Gackin' Yeti" it was so bad!

not to hijack but we ate at the table service and we loved it. One of the best meals of our trip.

We ate at the table service. Had great service and we loved the food. Nice change from typical park food and the inside of the restaurant has great themeing. :confused3 Hope you just hit an off day. We will definitely try it again.:thumbsup2

What did ya order?

Surprise, surprise, my mind is blank right now. We were there from December 15-22. I know we had the Fried Green Beans for an appetizer. I had a pork stir fry, but I can't remember what my husband and adult daughter ate. We did think it was a little expensive, but mainly because DH and DD tried some achoholic beverages and the hot tea was 3.99:scared1:

They have night vision from 830-11PM every night. There is a savanah out to the left of the pool. There are signs so it is pretty easy to find. It is free but and sometimes a little busy but many times you can use them for extended times. They are really cool!. Look at the night sky and you can see tons of stars.
