I planning to book a 2 bdrm savanna view 11/8 - 11/15/09 at AKV next month. On the last night we have enough people that I'll need another studio or we could switch to a Grand Villas. What would you do? If I go the GV route would you book the 2 bdrm at the 11 month window for the whole week and cancel the last night if the GV was available for 11/14?

It's only one point difference between the two choices, so point cost doesn't matter.

Hmmm, excellent question. Personnally, I would be torn between wanting to expereince a GV and not wanting to move for 1 night.

If you want every one together...then book the Grand Villa. IF you rather not move everyone over...then book a studio for your extra guests.

Or it comes down to how much time do you plan on staying for that one day/night. If not doing the park but spending time with family and friends back at the room...then do go for the Grand Villa.

I wouldn't want to move (with the group of people, one person or two, I do move) and not have a room for some of one day, but it may be an experience that you really want. I would pass on a one day GV experience.

I agree it doesn't seem to be worth it for just one night, some of my family just want to try a GV. It will be the night before we leave on the Wonder so we'll have to get packed up any way.

Nope, considering that you wont likely get into the GV before 4 PM and will have to be out by 11 AM, I'd think it was a bad use of extra points. Now IF you are already leaving early the next morning anyway, it MIGHT be worth it, since you would already be mostly packed to go home. Just bear in mind that you wont actually have a lot of time there....19 hours at the most.

It's actually one less point to do the GV then the 2 bdrm & studio since it's a Sat night 11/14. Kind of funny since we're so used to GV being more points. My worry is whether we could find availability for just one night. I need to pin my DS down as to when they'll arrive, as I've heard Sat or maybe Fri. The 2 bdrm & studio is definitely easier.

We spent one night of our trip in the Jambo GV and just loved it. It was soooo worth it even though we had to move the next day. We were lucky enough to get in the room in the AM.

We had room around the table for 12 and since we also had people in a studio we still were able to eat together.

The master bath has a TV. There was even a pool table in our unit!

We had three balconies with great views.

I'd deal with a little hassle of packing to be able to experience the Jambo GV again.

Although I consider the AKV Jambo House Grand Villas to be totally awesome, I wouldn't book a Grand Villa for one night unless you plan on having some sort of party in the villa. The AKV Jambo Grand Villas are great party villas. I know one member who booked one of the Grand Villas for one night specifically to hold a Super Bowl party in the room. The pool table and flat panel TVs everywhere made it a great venue for the party.
