Are the V & S studios at AKV hard to book at the 7 month window? I wasn't sure how many of them there are. I am sure it depends on the time of year, but on average are they hard to book? Thanks.

I just booked 4 nights at AKV in August two weeks ago (4 months out). I had my choice of a value or standard view studio--one at Jambo House and one at Kidani.

Not sure if this is typical or just not a very popular time of year since this will be my first trip using my DVC.

It's my understanding that the value units are only at Jambo House, there will not be any value units at Kidani. The value units are a result of the conversion of the old hotel rooms at the lodge into DVC units and the units ended up with less square footage than standard size units due to various building layout limitations during the conversion.

There are not that many of them and they are probably the 2nd most difficult category to book during peak times, behind only concierge level. This will become more true as the AKV owner community grows and there is more competition at the 11 month mark.

I've never had trouble booking AKV Studio at 7 months. Anytime we bring new friends or family we book them on the savanna. The value studios are really quite cramped, so we never book those. With Kidani opportunities should open up even more.

Just booked std view today for 7/2-4 and 7/7-10. Was able to get value 1Br over holidays a year and half ago about a month or two beofrehand--had to waitlist 1 day at a time.

so far the savannah view and concierge - are the ones everyone wants.

plus since the value view is smaller - it does not work well for families of 4.

so until alot more complaints about no animals on the SV (which AKL is working hard to prevent and expecting Kidani to do the same).

really expecting them to stay pretty easy. (or is that a hope)

I just booked a Value studio for the F&W festival, less than 7 months out. I expect that since it's shortly after Kidani opens, many people want to be over there. Also, AKV isn't as popular as the Epcot resorts during the F&W festival.

I gave up my value studio to move our reservation to BWV for F& W, hope you enjoy it!!!

We've called 3 times at the 7 month mark have never had any trouble booking a studio.

We spent Xmas week there (Dec. 20-26, 2007) & last summer we spent one nite there before our BCV trip.

We'll be there for three nights this summer....Kidani Village savannah view. :thumbsup2 after our BCV trip.
