AKV Studio for my parents

Which studio would you book at AKV ??

  • 10 nights in a value room?

  • 8 nights in a standard room?

  • 6 nights in a savannah room?

Hi - I have 100 points that I can't use and have offered them to my parents for a vacation next year. I want them to have a really nice time (they will be staying at my DVC before I even get chance to, so I want them to have a good impression of what I have bought in to!!;))

I will ultimately let them choose, but which option should I steer them towards:goodvibes - do you think there is a great deal of difference between value, standard and savannah - ;)I can give them more nights with a value (which might be the way they will go as they are coming from the UK) but will it give them the WOW factor that I want them to feel when they arrive at 'my' DVC??:confused3

thanks for any opinions!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Since they are coming from the UK I'd give them 10 nights in a value. The wow factor will still be there as they can view the animals from the common areas of the resort.

From the UK I'd def go with 10 days. You can request savanna or pool view on the value and they may get lucky, too :)

I say 10 nights as well since they are coming from UK....and value studios if dedicated have a pool or savannah view.

If this is your priority of concern I would say Savannah view. Although, no matter what you choose at AKL, it is a world class, one of a kind resort so I think they will enjoy it no matter what you choose. The AKL itself is a big WOW factor but the savannah views would put it over the top IMO. But as others have said, since they are coming from the UK a longer trip might be better suited.

Changed my mind. I didn't see that they were coming from the UK. Go value. The resort is beautiful, the value views are good and 10 days are magical. The value studio is comfortable for two.

I'd go with 10 nights in a value because they are coming from the UK and just walking into the lobby of Jambo should give them that WOW factor, I know it did to me.

The AKV value studios are quite small to sleep 4 but for a couple like your parents I think them ideal. AKV will give them a wonderful impression of your investment into DVC.

I'd go with the 10 nights in the value as well. While the savannah is nice, there are plenty of viewing areas throught the property and I'd rather have 4 extra days to enjoy them!!

It's not sleeping 4, only sleeping the parents. Go Value!!!

Great!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Thank you everyone for your replies, I am glad to hear that the values rate so highly, as I was hoping that would be the case. As it's just the two of them, the space shouldn't be a problem, and you're right about the WOW factor when you walk into the lobby, I am sure they will be blown away by that!!:cloud9:

I will ultimately let them choose, but I think if I could give them 10 nights, then in effect they won't have to pay for any other accomodation and can just relax and have a good time without moving rooms:thumbsup2

Thanks again for all of your input!!:lovestruc

agree.

the lobby is impressive - heck the value rooms are still impressive.

they will be happy.

Agreed. Book a value in Jambo, and request a savanna view. We had a value, savanna view room, and it was awesome! :thumbsup2

I know, I was just stating a fact that for 4 it's quite small but then I followed with the statement that "for a couple like your parents it's ideal!"
I guess you didn't read the whole line!

that sounds like a great idea - thanks!:thumbsup2 I know its not guaranteed, but was it a great savannah view, or are they obstructed??:)
We had a 1-BR, and it was great! Those staying in studios will have to comment, but our 1-BR value was a legit 1-BR view.
