I just starting booking a 2BDR AKV Standard View for Feb. 2009. Will I get a pool view or is it possible to get a parking lot view? (I heard the parking lot view is reserved for the Value Rooms???)

I assume my reservation will most likely be on the 5th or 6th floor of the lodge. I also know that Savanna views will be limited as a result of the construction project.

hope you mean 2009 or else you'll have missed your trip ;)

i do know that dvc is the 5th and 6th floor

views may change once the construction is finished and the crew is gone (as far as savannah views are concerned)

good planning

??????????????????????? What is good planning?

Standard view in Kidani could be parking lot, but at Jambo, it is mostly going to be pool view. Value view rooms at Jambo COULD be savanna view or any view, so it's a chance you take that could turn out very well. I think the big difference is that the value view rooms are small.

why would a savanna view at jambo be value? wouldn't that be only a savanna view room/rate?

THe difference of the "value view" rooms is their size. Some of them face Sunset Savanna. The standard rooms CAN'T be savanna view, but some of the value ones are. THere will be no value view rooms at Kidani, because all the rooms there will be designed for AKV and not made over from AKL existing configurations. Again, the differenciation in "value view" is the rooms size only.

Not to argue what dianeschlicht is saying because she is way more experienced at this DVC thing than this newbie, but I think I also read somewhere that even though there are a few Value rooms that have a Savannah view, due to the angle and direction the rooms face, it is a very limited view of a Savannah (or small part thereof) to go along with the smaller square footage she mentioned.

Hi! We had a savannah view value studio in December. We were on the sunset savannah. The view of the savannah, looking out at it was fine, but looking down, we were seeing a dirt bottomed enclosed area. We saw some animals, and I was prepared to be content with a parking lot view, the third kind of view that's possible with a Value room. We were happy!:goodvibes
