Thanks. It's not a done deal, but we told him we'd let him know Monday.

I forgot one thing. Closing fees. Disney pays 2/3 and buy pays 1/3. Therefore, on a 160 pt contract, it's around $320 for the buyer--$220 if they don't finance.

Wow! We just bought in this week and received a June UY. Our deal was exactly the same other than that.

Why did the user year go from June to December? why did they skip 5 months? This could be a problem for me and my guide is off til monday.

I mentioned to Glen that people on the boards were saying June. He said something like "Yeah, but now it's December."

Maybe it has something to do with the resort not opening until 5/09?? I dunno. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

Thank you. I was thinking I blew it by waiting until Monday. I've been sick all week and just kept putting it off until I felt better. December would not work as well for us (I think it wouldn't anyway) this whole thing has confussed me to a new level I better just pay Mickey on Monday and stop over thinking this thing.

December actually works better for us. I figure our trips will be mainly winter trips, i.e. Feb break or April break and maybe a Christmas here and there.

Since they are now selling Kidani units, the points you are looking at must be in a unit there that is designated as a December UY.

So far they have declared one floor each for units 64, 65, 66 & 67 (the second floor in all cases) in Kidani Village. As near as I can tell, all who have bought Kidani points thus far that have posted on the boards here have had a June UY and I think (someone correct this if I'm wrong) it was for unit 64. Were you told which unit the points would be deeded to? Also, if I may ask, who is Glen? Is that your guide?

I just got off of the phone with DVC and this is what they told me:

They are selling the last 3% of SSR.
160 points goes for $16640.
December UY
You get 160 pounts to use this year.
$10 credit a point
$500 gift card
No dues this year
Annual dues are $673.


For AKV:

160 points goes for $16,640
June UY
160 points for SSR for this year. Use or lose. They can also be transferred to II for a $95 fee.
$8 credit a point.
Annual dues are $750

I forgot to ask if there were any annual dues for AKV this year. And I didn't get clarification on if buying a real estate interest in SSR meant that it was your home resort or not.

I was told that dues for AKV would be for 2009--but you'd only pay the percentage that the resort is opened, i.e. if the resort opened half way through 2009, you'd pay half of the dues.

Yes, you will get 160 points to use in the next 12 months at SSR. This is because AKV Kidani (where you would be buying) will not open until May 2009. You also get 160 points for 2008 for your home resort (AKV) and in June 2009 another 160. So you would be sitting on 320 next June to use between then and 2010. The first 160 for SSR are a bonus gift for you waiting for the home resort to open.
