AKV Savanna View at 7 months?

Hi all -

Our homes are OKW and BLT, but we want to try AKV next year for the first time. Is it tough to get SV at 7 months? (May is the plan)

Also, can someone refresh my memory about which sides have which animals again?

Just got SV AKL at 7 month today (from my OKWreservation made at 11 months) for 12/26-12/30/2010 so that is the busiest week ...maybe a good sign for you.

I had a Kidani savannah view studio last June, booked at 7 months. We were on the Sunset Savannah side, which had giraffes and zebras, among others.

The majority of the rooms at AKV are Savanna View. You shouldn't have any troubles getting it at 7 months during most times of the year.

Even though we own there we have had times when we booked at the 7 month mark using other resorts points and have always gotten a SV view. We have even booked at Christmas time only 6 weeks prior to the trip and gotten it. That time we did have to WL, but it came through.

I booked in January for a SV studio for this coming week-end. This is for Jambo. Kidani was unavailable.

I just booked SV at 16 days from the start of my trip!!!

The CM told me that because a lot of the time people want to stay at AKV to save points, more often than not the SV rooms are the last ones to sell out. I am SO thrilled as it was technically my first choice!

Who woulda thunk it?

We just got back from a stay at AKV at Jambo in a 2 bedroom savanna view room. Our home resort is OKW and we were previously booked for June and in about March of 10 DS tells us he gets an extra week of vacation for May of 10 and I called and switched our ressie from June to May only two months before check in. I was on a waitlist, but only for about a week when it came through. May is suppose to be a slower time of year. Good luck.

Got a 1 bedroom for mid-December at 7 months. It's at Jambo, but that's OK.

We got Kidani SV last year at the 7 month window for our family trip and we got Jambo SV this year for a friend.

You should be fine. We booked 7 months out at AKL Kidani 2br Savannah View for 9 nights staying during Thanksgiving week 2010. We have requested a Sunset Savannah view room. Goodluck

We just switched yesterday to AKV from BLT. Going Dec 11-19. Got a one bedroom Savannah view Kidani. When my husband called I figured the room would not be available but it was at less than 7 months out.

If you book right at 7 months, I wouldn't think that May would be a problem.

I can't imagine it will be a problem. There are so many Savannah View rooms. I have booked a couple of times, always within 3 months, and never had a problem. We don't travel during peak times, though, and of course that helps.

We've never had any trouble getting AKV at 7 months out (studio) and we've stayed there during Xmas week(wasn't a savannah view) & in the summer(was savannah view).
