AKV Sales - how strong?

Later Expiration?! Where can I find more details on that & AKV overall? I've looked on the DVC site, & read thru some of greenban's thread here. I didn't see the expiration year mentioned.

Expiration is 2057. I know I read it in ONE of the greenban threads.

They touted these great sales with SSR and it is still selling 3 1/2 years later.

So SSR sales are so bad?

Some on this board predicted SSR would take 6 to 8 years to sell 12 buildings.
In 3 1/2 years it has sold 14 buildings.

SSR sales have been at a pace of about 1 building every 3 months. At an average of $86/point, that's about $21 million a month. If each contract were 200 points, that would be 1215 contracts a month. If you look at it in terms of unit/weeks (like Marriott/HGVC, etc), that would be 750 unit/weeks sold each month. I would hardly say SSR sales were poor.

SSR sales are at a faster pace than OKW or BWV, and about the same pace as BCV, but at a higher price per point than any of them.

Also, FWIW, documents have been filed to begin selling the first of the 4 Grandstand buildings.

Called Guide today she had on her machine she is very busy because of all of the AKV inquires? I just bought SSR and my paperwork hasn't closed so she said I could buy AKV if I would like instead but I will stick with SSR. I very happy to be a owner of SSR. But like I said she is very busy with AKV she said it has been crazy and they don't have much info the can ship to people either. So people are upset about that. So I think AKV is doing very well.

Wait I think you aren't getting my intent here. I'm not saying SSR sales are poor. I have no way of qualifying poor and we don't know the actual sales numbers.

My point is that we should all take what a guide says about sales with a grain of salt. They have a vested interest in stating sales are good.

Sales could be great who knows. As for releasing the Grandstand buildings evn that doesn't prove anything either way. If I had to venture a guess I'd say SSR sales have been good. Again just a guess.

I don't know about you all, but every realtor that I know personally is a positive, upbeat person! I think AKV sells itself to lots of people!

This is basically what I was told... sales were booming and they were swamped with work. They also said the 10 days to your door that they had been telling most people was beginning to become a stretch. Judging just from those comments, sales must be really doing well. Like I said before, so many people liked AKL already, that they came back and realized they could enjoy vacations there for years to come by buying AKV. :goodvibes

Well my guide was able to process my VB add-on on Saturday, points were in my account on Monday. Depending on the weather my FedEx box should be here on Wednesday or Thursday. My guide said he had alot of calls, didn't really mention how many add-ons he processed, he's only been with DVC 2.5 yrs so he doesn't have the base that some guides do.

Since SSR is not completed and probably won't be until late summer wouldn't that be expected that they are still selling after 3 1/2 years. :confused3

Wow! That was fast! I'm guessing that the faster processing may be because of the add-on instead of a new member altogether? Mine came pretty quick, too, but it was an add-on also. According to my guide they had been swamped over the past few days. :)

Not with new members then. It's all AKV add-ons. Not sure how this ties into anything. DVC overall is selling well these days, comparatively speaking with the past I presume.

AKV add-ons seem wildly popular with DVC DISers, or rather with those are AKL Lovers & DVC DISers.

My thoughts are sales are going to be strong. I suspect that there are a group of "potential" owners that have been waiting for another option to SSR.

Obviously, a great number of these people are waiting for a monorail DVC. However, the demolition and rumours surrounding the CR only make DVC more alluring right now. And DIS isn't the only way to know all this. As in "good time to buy in" with all the new options. And getting in before price increases too much.

I think there are a lot of AKL fanatics that might simply look at DVC since they are expanding there. As in "this could be my home?". Just to look at DVC for the first time or in a different way.

DVC now, with such rapidly expanding number of members, has built in marketing. As in "I told two friends, and he told two friends". And a lot of us treat friends and family. So DVCs "potential fan base" is rapidly growing. Rapidly.

Also, by looking at the number of renters trying to nab points. Timing of that ratio.... to owners' renting. I'm sure there is a certain % there that will grow tired of the competition, if it stays that way, and look into the program. Not to mention staying in a DVC suite before you own. Enticing I would think. And larger numbers there as well.

AKV's potential, along with timing in DVC history, and unfortunately with society's need for instant gratification like never before will produce strong sales. I would be surprised by anything different.

I live in the UK and I received some DVC AKV promotional details a few days ago.

With the price of flights to US at the moment there is no way I would do another add on. For our stay this summer the flights for the three of us is $5,855. Bearing in mind our vacation at SSR and our DCL cruise is all paid with DVC points it is a lot of money just for transport.

Just hoping a DVC will come to Europe one day.
